Nassau Colisseum Long Island NY
First of all this was my first time attending this venue, and glad to say my last. The trip alone was a disaster. I live in South Jersey and it normally takes a little over 2 hrs to get there. It took me over 4hrs due to traffic and on top of that there were no signs at all for Nassau Colisseum, nothing, noda. So I ended up missing the opening of the show. Who ever was in charge of booking this place should have know better(Jim Beach and company)If the show wasn't at the Garden or at least the Meadowlands they should have steared clear of this place. No one wants to come out to Long Island to a shitty arean on a Sunday night. And it showed half the up stairs of the areana was roped off and had curtains covering the empty seats. The best thing probably was Brians quote before LOML " I feel like I know you all so well as it only took us 45 years to get here from Manhattan"! "But fuck it were here and lets play". He also talked about seeing Spam Alot and how it's amazing we anit all dead yet. On a whole it wasn't a bad gig, the highlight for me was when Brian was done doing the end solo for WE Will Rock you on the platform, he handed me his six pence! That was worth the trip alone. Other interesting notes yes Roger seemed to blank out on the second verse of IILWMC, I actually got this on tape! However to his defence I will say that it seemed he was yelling at the sound tech to turn his mic higher. Also his drum solo was probably the best I seen him do, He really went the extra mile with it and was better than in DC. Also the sound was amazing Paul Rodgers so far on this tour has been spot on, he was really on fire last night hitting all the high notes, TSMGO WAS FREAKIN AMAZING!!! Next stop my home town of Philadelphia , I can promise you this WMMR has been promoting the show heavily since it was anounced. I know they have sold a lot of tickets should shape up to be one of the best shows of the tour, fingers crossed, see you all there.
I will be attending Philly as well!
Can't wait for the first sounds of Brian's guitar!!!!!
I just hope that 95 is clear. Plus, the Sixers are playing right next door. Might be smart to get there a little early.

for Boston - at the Garden, Celtics hosted Philly on the 8th, Milwaukee on the 10th, Denver on the 12th - basketball
11th - Bruins hosted the Islanders - hockey
These schedules were drawn up around July or August of last year. No idea of what other events that took place in these venues on the other days. The tour was announced when? December???
Hell, I'd have preferred the DC show to have been on the weekend. But there was hockey on Friday, and basketball on Saturday.
That's the way it works sometimes.

If you have standing places and you miss the shows opening you must stand somewhere at the back. If you have seats, you can't be close to the stage. So how could Brian hand you his six pense?

Why would they have to stand at the back? It's assigned seating. It does not matter what time you get there your seat will still be there.
Well I feel/felt the same way about Continental.. total sh*thole.. Anyway loved the coliseum show and 1 Garden show would have been better then NJ or LI

Madison Square Garden has a history to it, sure, but it's still a shitty stadium.
The sound at the Nassau Coliseum was great, but still, it's in the middle of the suburban wasteland that is Long Island. And I say this as a product of the wasteland that is South Jersey.
What makes MSG great is that there's no freaking parking lots! Everyone walks up from the nearby bars, subway stops. It has an energy! I remember seeing Kiss there in '97 with my Kiss fanatic friend; it was awesome, all these people dressed as Paul Stanley walking up 7th Avenue.
But Wembley was the same shit -- it's out in the middle of nowhere, kind of like Philly, where it's in the middle of 20 acres of paved wasteland. At least there's a train system to take you there.
No Wembley, that was a dump. Not even grated ground on the floor. It was all under a tent with glorified spot-a-pots for rest rooms.
My point is: The Nassau Coliseum is a barn, sure; but I'd be hard-pressed to find a difference among the others I'd been to. If they played mid-sized places, real theaters, then there'd be a world of comparisons to make.
But traffic is another thing. It was way shitty, and foggy. At least the parking was cheap!
I'm still left wondering why they couldn't have played one New York City date at a small venue to just blast out all the shitty rock critics who have hated them for so long. What's funny is that a lot of these weasels would clamor to go to the show, only to act all high and mighty and above it all. But screw it -- would have been stupendous to hear Roger's bass drum in Hammersmith or Radio City.
