Also, maybe I just didn't notice in Worcester, but last night both Paul and Brian had some "funky" looking guitars for CLTCL. Brian changes his midway...and we didn't get a photo of these unfortunatley... but they had a unique body to them. |

They used those in Atlanta and DC too. |

Will you tell us more about these guitars please Niek? What makes them more able to get the sound wanted in CLTCL? |
zaiga 13.03.2006 15:27 |
I saw one of these things in a guitar shop once (didn't get to play it, though). They are basically electric guitars, but somehow they sound like acoustics. I think they use them for CLTCL because they look cool, and being electric they are easier to use, just plug-em in instead of mic-ing them. |
FriedChicken 13.03.2006 15:36 |
I also think they chose them because they look cool. You can also plug in those semi-acoustic guitars they used on stage in tours after 1979. I think they used Martin guitars, but i'm not 100% sure |

Just think, in two weeks it'll be exactly a year since they started using these guitars. In that time there have been at least three threads on here, plus one official and one unofficial DVD featuring them, in addition to the dozens of pics. Who says Americans are insular? |
Togg 14.03.2006 09:11 |
The main benefit is the fact they don't suffer from feedback, which Electro-accoustic guitars do in live situations, this is due to the resonance created in the hollow body of a normal guitar. These have no body, hence very little feed back, unless you stand next to the amp that is! |
Lisser 14.03.2006 09:14 |
Awesome! Thanks for the info. |

Hang on, I'm not knocking general Americans not knowing Queen are in town, I'm knocking the American members of this site who are suddenly noticing things that started happening a year ago. The only reason why they wouldn't have known this is if they didn't take an interest in the discussion everyone else had at the time. |

The only reason why they wouldn't have known this is if they didn't take an interest in the discussion everyone else had at the time.I'm a guitarist so I notice things like the guitars Paul and Brian are playing. (I saw Randy Bachman play one of those at least 2 years ago) I doubt most people have really payed much notice about a guitar until they've seen them. I don't know if it means they're insular. I think it is more likely that they don't really care that much and having seen the guitar the're curious. Besides how would they find a discussion about the guitar when they have to sift through all of the anti Paul Rodgers crap posted? |

teleman wrote: Besides how would they find a discussion about the guitar when they have to sift through all of the anti Paul Rodgers crap posted?By seeking out information about how the European tour was going this time last year. You know as well as I do that the anti-PR threads are easily distinguishable from the concert report threads. Had the tour started in the US last year, I'd have kept an eye on what was going on. I'm expressing surprise that others on this site were not of a similar view. Or by watching any of the three DVDs available from the tour (ok, two of them you'd have to download)...? |
