I never saw this being debated here... so sorry of I'm repeating, but...
When Brian does retire... yes, there will come a time when eventually even him will not play... but specially, when Brian dies, do we know what will become of the Red Special?
I mean,
Will she become the most important piece in ROCK HISTORY?
Will she be bought by a useless rich man sitting on his throne, just to have one more item on his colection?
Will anyone continues to play her?
Will she be destroyed?
As by chance, Brian has spoken about this matter? Does anyone know about this?
It would be fun to hear your ideas...
Interesting question! Should probably go in the General Discussion but oh well.
Who says Brian's going to die?!
If he does, then no doubt it would be up to his wife, son Jimmy, and/or Roger and John.
One would hope it went into a music museum, fully secure, and looked after forever, taken down through his family, or given to somebody else important to him.
Although I respect every Queen fan, I wouldn't want him to just sell it.
I'll ask him sometime ;-)
I think Brian once said he wants to be buried with it. Probably half-joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if he secretly means it :D
I wonder how long it'll take for graverobbers to get it out :D
Pim is right, he's said he wants to be buried with it but I'm sure he'll give it to one of his children and hopefully they'll display it at a museum of some sort that has to do rock and roll!!!
What would you all do if you were him? I'm not sure I'd want to be buried with it bc of what Pim said. I'd not want someone digging me up for my precious guitar. I'd want my family to have it as a momento of me.
I know this has been pondered also, but how much do you all think it's worth?

Dimebag was buried w/ one of Eddie Van Halens guitars (the one thats on the cover of Van Halen II).
But no doubt, he'll take that thing to the grave w/ him
I can't believe it's not insured at all!! I agree it is priceless bc you can't compare it to anything else, there is no other to compare it to but he really ought to have it insured to some value. What do I know though. I'm not sure how that works. What I'd like to know is where does it stay when he's in hotels, in the room with him? Where is it when he's not touring? In his house right?
Is Pete the only other person who is allowed to touch it besides the guys that did the refurbish stuff?
Because it is one of a kind, it is pretty much priceless...truthfully, the Red Special will probably have broken down and won't work properly in 20 to 30 years (whenever Brian dies). I'd expect it to end up in a museum.

You really think so? It's taken pretty good care of. I think it'll work forever!
