Jakobe 07.03.2006 15:05 |
I'm leaving my home right now to brave the infamous Atlanta traffic. Wish me luck! |
asidewins 07.03.2006 15:51 |
Right now traffic seems to be running smoothly... which really isn't saying much. But if you happen to be going to the Arena on I-85N, watch out around where the road can veer off to 316. Lots of construction starting up there, and it may be a bit slow. Once you're past that, you're basically at the arena. |
iron eagle 07.03.2006 16:16 |
you can get off at steve reynolds and take a left on satelite blvd (spelling courtesy of zeni *LOL*)-- take it all to sugar loaf--take a left at the light and just head to the arena a kroger is across the street--- ticket scalpers will be on the street too--given them away... wooooooooooo hoooooooooooooo |
goodco 07.03.2006 21:08 |
and the set list was.... link tell us all about it, gang! |

No Dragon Attack? |
roxxanne61 07.03.2006 21:44 |
dragon attack is on there its been moved down in the set list |
1bigdaddycool 07.03.2006 21:48 |
Doh!!! Thanks & Thank you Brian |
asidewins 07.03.2006 23:36 |
Wow. BM.com is on top of things. Yep, that was the list. AMAZING SHOW! I was really excited to hear "I Want To Break Free", but at the same time I was a little sad that I was missing out on some "Dragon Attack" action. I thought that Dragon out of AOBTD was perfect. Paul rising out of the stage with the piano for "Bad Company" was pure rawk...loved it. I smiled the whole time. I cried. It was amazing. They were in top form. The crowd went nuts for them. I would say that the arena was at 85-90% capacity (the parking lot was full too). Wish I could go on to DC, but I need to stay here in the dirty south. |
asidewins 07.03.2006 23:40 |
"Take Love".... I dig it. Not much of a Queen sound, even with Brian and Roger playing on it... pure Paul . I did enjoy it though. Anyone know what brand the odd shaped guitar was that Paul was playing for Take Love, and that Paul and Brian played for Crazy Little Thing Called Love? |
The Stealer 07.03.2006 23:41 |
Great to hear!! Thanks for the late night post!! I think DA coming out of dust is a good idea |
asidewins 08.03.2006 00:02 |
A question to anyone that was at the show tonight: Did Roger look unhappy? I thought he did, but my wife said that he seemed to perk up near the end, especially for Days and GAGA. He was trying to say something before Love w/My Car, and I don't know if the mic wasn't working or not, because all I could hear from him was something to the effect of "..well I was going to say something....but...ahh fuck it.."... and then he started Car. Either way, happy or unhappy, he flat out rocked, and as a fan of Queen since I was two (parents turned me on to The Game), it was great to finally see Roger and Brian. |
iron eagle 08.03.2006 00:22 |
fantastic show--was on my feet the whole time better then NJ IMO-- saw quite a few friends and family--some i hadnt seen in a couple years-- new song was good--crowd into the whole show-- dragon attack was brill--- probably weakest song was Show-- bit prejudice about that though--just dont think anyone but Freddie should do that one.. about 80-85% full-- very upper area was sparse and some in the back-- audience participation was incredible-- i was shocked how many songs were sung to by the audience-- attendant said to me last they were told 7000 tickets were sold-but had lots of same day sales today and tonight my ears are still ringing-- my voice is already hoarse--- i wish i could do a couple more shows...but that damn mortgage payment.... |
iron eagle 08.03.2006 00:23 |
oh IMO Roger looked a bit tired--but not unhappy at all he probably needed a bit more vodka-- |

Re: what Roger said after the drum solo sounded an awful lot like, "Very unfashionable, but fuck it," or something close to that. Was anyone else even mildly disturbed by the dimtwit who rushed the stage at the end of Bohemian Rhapsody? I can remember when that used to be cool or funny to do, but it's not anymore. Not to me anyway. I'm sure he impressed his friends, though... Wonderful show, though. I never got to see Queen back in the day, and I'm more than grateful to have had the chance to see Queen and Paul Rodgers tonight. It felt right, the match b/w them. I wasn't sure, not even w/ the CD, but I'm sold now. They fit. Take care. |

Erin 08.03.2006 09:02 |
A recording? I wish.. I got busted trying to take some video with my camera..not camcorder...camera. Yeah, I'm gonna sell this perfect quality video online..haha. Did manage to get a few decent pics. Atlanta was 100 times better than Jacksonville. I wish I could see the same show over again..:-) It was AWESOME!!! I really was surprised about IWTBF and even more surprised that they left Dragon Attack in the setlist after Jax. They TOTALLY NAILED it in Atlanta!! I CANNOT wait until Pittsburgh!!! Will get some pics up later tonight when we get home. |

"I can remember when that used to be cool or funny to do, but it's not anymore." It was cool when they did it to Bowie. It wasn't cool when they did it to Dimebag. |

Anyone know if anyone is willing to sell tix for the San Diego show? I was at Jacksonville & loved it and am thinking about going to SD. |

I was thinking to myself, "Aww, he's going to miss the encore." Too bad for him. |

Although I found it disturbing, it wasn't near as distracting or disrespectful as the woman next to me who failed to shut off her cell phone *and took a call during "Love Of My Life".* Yep, I've waited only, let's see...hmm....ever since I first heard Live Killers to be a part of an audience particpation bit like that, and finally...yeah, I get to hear about her mom's personal problems...for the whole 2nd half of the song. Really. I wanted to tell her that there simply is no phone call that important. I restrained myself, but only just... |

cpardua71 10.03.2006 07:55 |
Believe me, I thought about it, but I felt it would have been even more distracting to those around us. And seeing as how pretty much that whole group of people were already inconvenienced...Yeah. I endured it, but like I said, only just... |

I took my 11-year old son and a couple of his friends to the show in Gwinnett on Tuesday night. Having missed Queen on tour as a teenager due to an overprotective parent I wanted to make sure my son didn't suffer in the same manner. Going in I was a bit concerned about Paul Rodgers out front but I have to say that I left the show as a HUGE Paul Rodgers fan. I felt that he really appreciates the legacy of Queen's music and treated it in that manner during the show and his own songs added to the overall level of excitement. Having read some US reviews comparing this tour to one put on by a tribute band is really missing the point. Rodgers isn't doing a tribute show or trying to recreate what Queen was able to do. Instead he's having fun performing one classic song after another. The only thing that slightly took away from the show for me was the number of fans that seemed a bit lost during some of the classic old songs like 'Love of My Life' and '39'. I expect the reaction of the crowd would be infinitely better during a UK show. In all it was a great performance and one that I will remember. |

I was at the show. Thought it was awesome. Actually saw Queen with Freddie here (in the old Omni) back in 1980. As for Roger, I thought he seemed really tired. I doubted for a moment he was going to make it through his solo. Has anyone found any reviews for this show? |
