Have we heard anything about the setlist yet? |
The Stealer 05.03.2006 23:27 |
Waiting to hear. |
westpak 05.03.2006 23:33 |
OMFG it was AWESOME so much better than Miami. The crowd was really into it which you could tell energized the guys, they were hot tonight, comparable experience to New Jersey last year. The set list was the same except they skipped Say it isn't True. Brian specially was a totally different guy he seems to really feed off the crowd as did Paul. I have som epics and clips I will post in a bit. |
DrOzymandias 05.03.2006 23:36 |
Just back from the show. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Got off to a rocky start as Brian actually slipped and fell going up the stairs during Tie Your Mother Down. Then Paul totally flubbed/forgot the lyrics to Dragon Attack. But...Brian just took over the song and delivered an astonishing guitar performance during Dragon. It was a mind blower! After that it was full steam ahead and absolutely dead on. Set list was ditto what they got in Miami...if you havent seen it here it is cut and paste. INTRO - BEAUTIFUL DAY MIX REACHING OUT TIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN DRAGON ATTACK FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS TAKE LOVE (new song !!!) CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE SAY IT'S NOT TRUE '39 LOVE OF MY LIFE HAMMER TO FALL FEEL LIKE MAKIN' LOVE DRUM SOLO I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR GUITAR SOLO LAST HORIZON BAD COMPANY ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST DAYS OF OUR LIVES RADIO GA GA CAN'T GET ENOUGH SHOW MUST GO ON BO RAP ----- ROCK YOU ALL RIGHT NOW CHAMPIONS The place was about 75-80% full I would estimate between 8-9000 strong. Jacksonville's an interesting town as the Bad Co. songs in some cases got bigger pops than Queen. I have about 50-60 pictures I can upload if someone has some web space for me. Drop me a line at rkrossfan at aol dot com. |

Just back from the concert. Simply amazing. Crowd was wonderful. Didn't want the concert to end. What a show. |

Brian fell? Oh that's so sad! |
freddiefan_fl 06.03.2006 00:05 |
I am on the floor. I didn't notice Brian falling down. The whole group looked really excited towards the end. Paul was going around touching everyone's hands. |
The Stealer 06.03.2006 00:08 |
Nice to hear!!! Brian needs to be careful!! |
Knute 06.03.2006 00:25 |
I'm feeling better and better about this tour. Jacksonville had the 2 for 1 sale and the managed to fill up 75-80% And it appears the crowd was enthusiastic and loud and the band is already hitting an early stride. I tell you what. If Q+PR came back to Jacksonville a year from now, it would be a sellout. A lot of people are just catching on to them. And with the all important word-of-mouth...boy oh boy. I think this is gonna be a triumphant tour when all is said and done Q+PR is gonna kick ass as they blaze a trail thru America. |
coops 06.03.2006 00:26 |
I thought this show was better than the meadowlands. The sound was great , the band were great and the audience were completely energized. I think it was fantatsic. Cannot describe the thrill. We were 1 row back from the end of the catwalk which was thrilling also. What a show. |

The show was AMAZING, the setlist was perfect IMO, and I haven't the slightest negative thing to say about it. =) I got some awesome pictures, but I still have to go through them.. so I'll post a link when they're up. |
freddiefan_fl 06.03.2006 07:58 |
what 2 for 1 sale. paid 100 bucks for each. Tickets were expensive but the show was worth every penny. |

Awesome show last night. I have been waiting 30 years to see them since missing them because I was to young to go with my older brother who my parents knew he was going to party more than listen to music. The band was about an hour late for what I figure were sound problems. Later towards the end of the show I did hear all the sound go out for what seemed like a 20 milliseconds so maybe they were having issues. Saw some guys working on stage at something. The worst part was listing to CCR over and over again for all that time. But when they went on CCR was soon out of my head. The "new" song is completely Paul Rodgers sound. Nice song. If it is an indication of the album to follow(?) then it will be good. What kind of weird guitars were Paul and Brian plating? No body to them, just an outline. Kind of like an Aria Sinsonido or something. Dragon Attack was great. Paul did it in his own good way. I wish Freddie was there of course but Paul is damn good. Real professional entertainer. Knows how to work the crowd. The rest of the band played right on. Man, Danny is a wild bass player. Thought he was kind of funny stoking the neck of the bass during FBG! Hear a quick riff of "White Man" Maybe because of the statement Brian made about Jacksonville and the "trail of tears". Sad to see Brian fall. Thought for sure it broke that guitar. I did get some sound and video clips of 39', the new TAKE LOVE song, I'm in love with my car, and a bit of the guitar solo but I have no idea where to up load them so if there is an easy suggestion... Anyway, the rest of the tour should be real great! |
Daz85 06.03.2006 12:16 |
You could use rapidshare or yousendit.com to upload the videos. Curious about Take Love :-) |

We will all be very very greatfull if you manage to upload them. You will go down in the history books as the first person to share with us the "NEW" song! ;-) |

75-80% full? My seats were for the upper section, but they sold so few tickets they didn't even open it. Awesome though b/c instead of sitting in section 309, we got 107! Attendance wasn't great, but the performance was awesome! Maybe it's b/c I never got a chance to see Freddie and I'm just thankful I could see queen now, but I thought Paul did very well! It was an amazing concert! |

Another review (kind of all over the place): The show FUCKING rocked! Excuse my language. I was disappointed to not see a sellout in Jax, but I wasn't surprised. It was a strange place to play at (Raleigh or Charlotte, NC or Norfolk, VA would have been better places in the southeast). I was a little disappointed in the fans. From where I was standing, it didn't seem like they were getting into it enough - not enough clapping or singing during love of my life. But I have read others reviews contraindicating this (so that is GOOD!) It seems that Paul's songs got more applause sometimes. Tie Your Mother Down ripped. That rocked! I almost shit my pants when they started Dragon Attack. It was good to see 3 hard rockers to start off the show. The new song was great. I didn't see Brian fall down. I was sitting about 15 rows in front of the stage that comes out into the crowd. The Brighton Rock solo was one of the best I heard - the crowd went wild when he started Chinese Torture. Last Horizon kicked ass! Brian forgot or didn't play a verse of '39. I was disappointed not to hear Magic, Want it All and Break Free, but I would always trade those 3 for a new song and Dragon Attack. I do agree with what Brian said on his website about no promotion went into the concert. I saw no posters. BUT, people did know about it. I was walking around w/ my Queen shirt on and people talked to me about it, wanting to go to the show. I took a butt-load of pics & some audio. Haven't looked at it yet. I will try and upload some ASAP. QUEEN ROCKS! |

Here's a so-so review from the Florida Times Union. Although I think registration is required to read it. link |

Hadrian can you please tell me where and what Brian May said about no promotion for the Jacksonville (or other shows for that matter)? Thank you and have a good day! |

AlexRocks 06.03.2006 17:22 |

Are they still using Eminem as an intro? |
zadigadabop 06.03.2006 18:46 |

PieterMC 06.03.2006 18:50 |
First, the show was excellent. I would say attendence was 60% at most. Lets put it this way.... thirty minutes before the show the two rows directly in front of the catwalk were not completely sold. Myself, Erin and Melissa decided to move from our seats to the end of the catwalk. Great to see a show from the end of the catwalk!!! A security guard told us that they had only sold 2,500 tickets for the show and that they had given away over 2,000 tickets for the show. There was no Eminem intro. It was a shame that Roger only came down the catwalk for Radio Ga Ga. The new stage setup is pretty nice. The audience seemed to be really into it, which was good. I did see somebody filming at least parts of the show. Myself, Erin and Melissa were shown on the large video screens for large portions of '39 and Love of My Life. Overall I thought it was a better show than the NJ show. Onto Atlanta..... |
zadigadabop 06.03.2006 18:54 |
Here is the end of the drum solo and the first part of I'm in Love with My Car. link Sorry, I have video of it but it comes in at 170MB (for 2 minutes of so-so video) so after I convert it down I'll share it. |
Deacons 1st Choice 06.03.2006 20:39 |
Awesome news...i am very happy to hear that this show went off well. For months now their has been talk here and elsewhere that Q+PR would have a hard sell in JAX. There was even one point where some folks here were thinking it was going to cancel due to poor ticket sales. Well all i can say it...Q+PR kicked booty! It's all smooth sailing from this point on folks....GET PUMPED and GET READY TO ROCK HARD!!! :) |
AlexRocks 06.03.2006 22:04 |
Holy crap! If Queen only sold two thousand tickets then this will be the LAST time they come to the U.S. PERIOD! What a bunch of retards my fellow citizens are. They choose booze, video games, and rap music over this?! Screw them! Didn't Paul Rodgers sell far more tickets with just Bad Company a few years ago?! ...and still no one has told me where on Brian May's website where he mentions that there is no promotion for some concert or the tour. HELLO where is it and what does he say??!!! |
rhaps1988 06.03.2006 22:23 |
Just wondering whether you were really at the arena or not. Its a great show. I have never been to a Queen concert. I almost missed this one. My wife and myself enjoyed it very much. I thought Paul Rodgers did a terrific job. The arena was almost full. Only the upper sections were empty. The arena capacity was 16000. My guess is that there were around 10000-12000 people there. Anyway, the atmosphere was terrific. My legs are aching today standing and dancing most of the time. Thank you Q+PR. Come back to Jax again. |
AlexRocks 06.03.2006 22:47 |
I am going tomorrow night...in Duluth. I am twenty eight years old and have consciously been a fan since 1992 when I was thirteen. I am off the walls for tomorrow night! I just hope that I have a safe trip from here to there and back again! ROCK AND ROLL!!!! LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!!!!! |

i agree..whoever is posting these attendance figures is way off.I have access to it and there were 9100 tix sold for Jax. |

zadigadabop - could you email me the song clips you uploaded please? The links don't work. You can reduce the video file size by importing them into Windows Movie Maker, and exporting them in reduced quality by the way :-) |
iron eagle 07.03.2006 13:31 |
i thought it was a sellout?? i did like how they went to the bar next to the venue and gave everyone tickets and moving people from the upper teirs to the floor was a sight to see esp. since so many tickets were sold---i am amazed that they has so many floor seats still open for freebies.. the tea with the roadies was great though! |
Erin 07.03.2006 14:19 |
When we get back from Hotlanta, my pics will be put up. As luck would have it, the battery was low on my camera, and I couldn't zoom in. Ahh..well..we were at the FREAKING END OF THE CATWALK so I managed to get a few cool pics anyway. Btw....these seats were not ours. The were unsold apparently, so Pieter, Lisser and myself staked our claim and crossed our fingers that no one would tell us to move before the show started. Can you even imagine what Brian would have thought if he'd looked down and saw that there were empty seats in front of the catwalk???? |
S@turn 07.03.2006 14:47 |
nice nice, good you enjoyed it, and that you did do brian that pleasure indeed. I like the stories, they bring up the memories! |

Here's the contradiction. People IN Jacksonville (and I have it on word from 100.7 Radio and 102.9 Radio) were turned away at the box office stating it was sold out. My tickets were fucked up to begin with, having bought floor seats, and having a receipt for floor seats in my hand at the will call window, but getting seats upper level and another receipt handed to me saying THAT is what I paid for. Now, if it was, indeed SOLD OUT as it's been said it was, why would they come around and OFFER to put us in an upgraded seat, for FREE. They MOVED us arena left right off the stage (damn near under the stage right tron, one section back) from the upper level, and the place still wasn't packed. The top level was completely empty. I love this band to death, I think they put on a hell of a show, but I do believe that someone's ego played a part in the whole ticket process, because if it hadn't....that entire section that moved...would have stayed their asses in the top level....but they got moved...for free, which means SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, within the organization that plans or promotes this tour, etc, wanted those members of that band to come out and see (at least as far as the eye COULD see) a packed house...and having shifted nearly 50% of the crowd, they accomplished that. |
Lisser 10.03.2006 23:35 |
So that is what was going on.....I watched that happen. Pieter, Erin, and I saw security moving people around on Brian's side. We were told by the security guard in front of us that the show was being held up bc these people would not move. We were told that someone wanted them moved bc they could see behind the curtain. Who knows what the truth is, but I saw a man that had hair similar to Brian's (curly, brown) with head phones on talking on a walky talky and pointing up to those fans who were in the all but empty section to the right of Brian. It seemed like there were a handful of fans that were not willing to move and they were not going to start the show until they did move. I don't think they even took the stage until about 8:15 or so. Thanks for the explanation...we figured it was an ego thing and that PR people for the band did not want them to go out on stage and see all the empty sections. Spike's side was at least 50% vacant at 7:30pm. But in fairness, there was a bad car accident on I95 that might have kept a large portion of people from getting to the show on time. There is already bad construction through that area as it is, only two lanes of traffic and with that wreck, all lanes were blocked for quite some time. |
