Hi everyone,
Many people know this great concert which was recorded with a stunning quality. I have a problem with the name of the venue. I have watched many lists and sometimes i saw Sartory Hall, sometimes Sporthalle. I did some research on the internet and I didn't find any trace of Sartory Hall but i found a Sartory Saal. Could you please tell me which is the real venue where Queen played on the 6th of December of 1974?
Another question from a friend: He's trying to make the most complete and exact list of the Queen concerts (you can watch it here: link ) . There is a problem for concerts at the Imperial College in 1970. Some sources say Queen played there on the 12th of July, some sources say they played there on the 18th of July and some say they played there on both of these nights. So what is the truth?
Thanks for your answers. ;)

"Saal" looks like a Dutch word, not German. I guess maybe the Sporthalle was sponsored by Sartory at some point (although I'd be surprised if this was the case back in '74

Your friend should give up. The definitive list already exists - link
Hi Thanks,
thanks for your answer. If you were a little bit more aware about the queen concerts, you should have known that there are some minor errors on queenconcerts and Martin admitted it.

I happen to be from cologne, so I can confirm that it was definitely not the (now demolished) "Sporthalle". They did play the Sporthalle later on several times, though.
The Sartory Saal is an auditorium within a hotel complex. Actually there are three different sized halls in that complex, and the biggest has a capacity of about 1500, I think.
But I am not quite sure that they actually played there, as normally this is a congress center, or used for theatrical and especially carnival-events. I have never heard of any rockband playing there.
Around 1974 there was another venue in cologne which was the top address for upcoming bands: the "Stollwerck", an old Chocolate-Factory. I am pretty convinced that they actually played there, and the name was confused. Freddie at some point talks about the "unusual venue", but that could apply to both venues: a hotel-auditorium and an old factory...
I will do some research on that.
