Oh no it hit him. It was during the Innuendo Secret Tour around November. Rog hit Freddie in the head with his drums and it killed him instantly.
AIDS? Yeah right.

I'm just kidding, I'm not sure, Rog threw his drumset a lot especially when he was angry, his drums sucked, or sometimes probably when they were being filmed, to look cool.
He sort of trashed it at the end of the Rainbow concert, but I don't think he actually destroyed it or anything. Did he do that often back then?
And I've seen a clip of Freddie knocking over some speakers but I'm not sure what show that was from....
I'm not 100% sure, but I do recall reading in several different biographies/articles etc...that Roger trashed his kit at the end of a gig/appearance in Italy (San Remo festival '84??) as he was so pissed off with how it had gone

Ah, I wouldn't be surprised, cos they had to mime there, as they did at the Montreux Golden Rose Pop Festival (correct name?) in 1984 and 1986. I believe they mimed Radio Ga Ga twice there, though if it was on the same date or on different nights, I'm not sure. Could anyone confirm this?
And if I may point out, there is a VCD quality file of one of (or the one?) mimed performance of RGG from San Remo available on the Hub, but strangely enough, it wasn't included on GVH2.
Do Queen own copies of the video at all?

Yeah, that one I've been wondering about for quite a while now...
Where DOES it come from?
Any/every performance of Sheer Heart Attack in 1979. It was always one specific speaker cabinet, Brian & Roger's mics and Freddie's mic stand. Clearly if not rehearsed, it had been decided what could be "trashed" for effect. A couple of times RT's hi-hat went as well, but this was accidental.

He did it in 1978 up to 1981 as well. After 81 Freddie stopped doing those things.
