I was watching Let it Be and I realized that George Harrison's voice is very similar to Bri's (IMO). It has that thin quality, where its not powerful, but there is still a good quality. Anyone notice that? Also, does George ever really smile?
To answer your "Anyone notice that?"
Ya know...I posted the same type of thing (similarities to George's voice) in "Brian May, singer" --- probably on page two now.
I concur with Haystacks: Brian sounds a lot like Paul McCartney. If you close your eyes while listening to Paul's "No More Lonely Nights," you can practically see Brian singing it. The converse is true for "Good Company."
LMFAO!!!! Brian sounds like Macca...erm...no way!! Paul is a much better singer than Brian...thats why he (along with lennon) fronted the most creative and greatest band of all-time.
McCartney has such a different tone to Bri. Bri owns macca on guitar, tho.
I've read in lots of web pages about voices that Brian May and Paul McCartney's voices are quite similiar. I don't think Brian sounds like George Harrison at all, he sounds like Mcca.
God bless Queen and The Beatles
"With all due respect...though decent, McCartney's vocals are far from outstanding. He's a good singer for a beat-band, but he would never be able to tackle something like 'Resurrection'."
You're beating cabbage in the sarcasm stakes. Did you ever hear 'Golden Slumbers'? 'Oh Darlin'? 'The End', for shits sake? :D
I won't say it'd sound good if he tried singing Resurrection because I'd have to hear it first, but I can categorically say he'd have the range and power to do it, at least.
George smiled often and had a wicked sense of humor. The Let it Be sessions were probably the low part of his entire life (while alive)....so he's down in the dumps most of the time.
Watch Beatles Anthology or Concert for Bangla Desh.....George was very funny. As were all the Beatles.....thats what made them so great...apart from musical ability....they were incredibly charming...when they wanted to be.
Queen is similar....but totally different type of music.

Honestly, I don't think so... McCartney doesn't have Brian's chest voice range. Well, Brian's early-90s chest voice range. His voice started going on him in the late 90s.
Oh, I don't think McCartneys vocals are THAT outstanding tho, power and range wise - he is better than Bri. People mentioned songs like 'Helter Skelter' which must be an absoloute throat shredder to sing but Paul manages it. Listen to him on 'Back In The USSR'. Fantastic.
Well, because this is a hypothetical discussion, I wasn't exactly referring to Paul McCartney of 2006. I was just saying Paul McCartney in general, and in 1969 (during the track "The End") he hits a Dflat which is just below the D that Brian May keeps hitting in Resurrection, so I reckon he probably could do that song.
I haven't heard much of Sir Paul's more modern music, so I don't know how his voice has held up. But he did a good job of Helter Skelter at Live 8. Not as good as the original but that was *40* years ago, I think he's holding up pretty well.
