A Day at the Races. I had just turned ten years old and paid for the LP with birthday money. I still remember placing in my mom's shopping cart.
It's still one of my favorites. Had a great romantic streak throughout. However, I think Queen would have been better served to not make it look like such a sequel to ANATO.
I bought Live Killers, not knowing what a live album was back then. I figured it had all the songs I really wanted to listen to and then a whole lot more. I think it really worked out great, though, because ever since I started collecting all the albums, looking for the studio versions of all those songs. I ended up having so many albums, I just decided to get them all. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I was adopted into hardcore Queen fandom.
And the best part of it is I am now part of this community with people just like me, and I think all of you guys are the best in the world. Even Thomas Quinn.
i think my first album was ADATR...but it could've been II
i was only a kid, so i could afford singles..but not albums...can't remember which i got first with my paperround money
my first one was ANATO in 2002; a great way to start off in my opinion.
Since then I have gotten Queen, Queen II, NOTW, Jazz, The Game, Hot Space, AKOM, The Miracle, Innuendo, All 3 Greatest Hits, Wembley, On Fire, and ROTC (although it's technically not "Queen")
wow, when you think about it, I still have a ways to go! lol
my first was live at wembley (i found it at a used books/cd store and decided to buy it just for the heck of it...and became addicted) and the last one was Queen II. a shame i didn't have it earlier it's great..
I was given NOTW & The Game on cassette back in 1981 for my 13th birthday. A week later I bought Live Killers. That was the start of my affair w/ Queen some 25 years ago.
