I know youre a RHCP fan- and I know this guy who keeps claiming they are a rap band because of in Power Of Equality he says "Death to the message of the KKK"
Could you help clear this up for us?
What is KKK an abbreviation of?
What is the message of the KKK?
What would death to that message mean?
Would that meaning be similar in any way to the title of the song?
What on earth has this all got to do with someone claiming RHCP are a rap band?

well theyre rap/funk/metal, they write about the issues of their time, at least they used to. but since theyve mellowed out theyre not now are they? ;-)
so yeah back in the day, when desert storm was goin on they were pissed off about the war and wrote about that song, and just added some other things that pissed them off as well.
for a while anthony wrote about his girlfriends and how he wanted marriage, he had lived in the fast lane for so long he wasnted to find someone to have a family with and still does. they write about life, fun, death, sex, rock and roll, partying, and thats what makes them great
so just bc they say "death to the KKK" doesnt define them as rap. did i answer this ok?
btw they have a new album coming out may 9th! ill be waiting in line!
Thank you,
did you hear anything about the new album like a title or release date? I heard a bit about it on the radio but they just said that they were getting a new one.
allright, the KKK is short for the Ku Klux Klan and they are a white supremist group that started after the American civil war. They show up from time to time but do something dumb and lose public support. And since the song is called "The Power Of Equality", Antony Kiedas wants death to the idea of racism

Yeah, I read an article the other day that said the release date is May 9th in the U.S. It's a double album -- 25 tracks, produced by Rick Rubin. The article said they're gonna do a summer tour in the U.S. with Kayne West.

They're playing in the UK in July - I booked my tickets for the Coventry gig on 2nd July last friday as soon as they went on sale. Not sure who will be supporting them over here, but considering that James Brown was the support act at the last UK gigs they did (Hyde Park 2004) I doubt it will be a disappointment! I can't wait!
Did you guys hear that Rick Rubin is producing the next Metallica album.
Personally I think that Rick Rubin is great with certain artists like RHCP, but I seriously doubt something good will come up from putting Metallica and Rick Rubin together.
Rick Rubin finally earned my respect on what he has done with the Last 3 Tom Petty albums. I look forward to what he can do with Metallica. Certainly better than Bob Ezrin.
As for Red Hot being racist... If that were even an ounce true, would George Clinton have produced Freaky Styly? If someone doesn't like a band, how come racism always comes into it? They said Queen was racist for playing Sun City. No, they wanted to make some money and increase their fan base. Race had nothing to do with it.

Metallica can only be great at doing something: HARDCORE METAL.
Rick Rubin producing hardcore metal is something I just can't have high expectations for. He could have produced for Slayer and System Of A Down, but that's just not metal.
wow, I think I have most of them but I cant find Red Hot Chili Peppers and my dog stepped on my By The Way CD. Then I never got that Greatest Hit one either but I have all the songs on it so I dont see a point.
