Ok here is a thought...
1. Rock Star is holding open auditions from March 1st - March 31st across the U.S. and Canada.
2. Queen's U.S. Tour is over on April 13th, two weeks later. They will be on the west coast at that time.
3. Paul Rodgers is not committing anything beyond the current tour.
4. Brian May at first vehemently denied Queen's interest in participation. But he is suddenly quiet despite all of the wild rumours going all over the internet that Queen (or possibly Van Halen) is going to be the next Rock Star band.
Anyone think its possible that Queen ijust might be it?
5. The producers have mentioned the new band as being a "Rock 'n' Roll Supergroup."
6. Brian wallows in the public's adoration.
7. Brian has also shown a willingness to showcase Queen music thru musicals, compilation albums, etc.
Might Rock Star also be a new outlet for Brian to expand Queen's legacy?
I didn't even like INXS that much and I cringed that they were shitting all over Michael Hutchence' memory.
If Queen become the next Rock Star thing, I will, no joke, sell all my shit on ebay. If I was a celebrity, I'd publicly voice my contempt for them for doing so.
What a horrible, horrible thing to do (err, do Rock Star, that is).
8. Toward the end of Rock Star: INXS, Brian found himself watching the show, with great interest, and actually pulling for MIG to win. This was months after his denial that Queen would ever do such a thing.
True, he knows MIG...
But he was clearly impressed with the performances he saw and the quality of the musicianship.
Brian has not issued any public denials or declinations of Rock Star since September of 2005.

You wouldn't be the only one. I'd like to think Brian and Roger have enough self-respect to
avoid something as desperate as Rock Star.

I really hope that they don't do that, they should keep Paul Rodgers because he at least can sing and he's British and he has experience. I will cry if they do a stupid show.
Yeah, that would really make them look silly if they did that...for real...
What do you guys think INXS should have done instead of the reality show, something similar to Queen?
Fucking hell, has there ever been a weaker conspiracy theory?
1&2. You say that they are on tour DURING the audition process? That's an argument AGAINST them participating....
3. Brian & Roger haven't committed to anything beyond this tour either, maybe Jason Bonham & Nuno Bettancourt are replacing them?
4. Because Brian says "Never" once AND DOESN'T REPEAT HIMSELF DAILY, you conclude that he's changed his mind?
5. Thin Lizzy? The Beatles? Lynyrd Skynyrd are boung to be missing a member...
6. Reality shows POLARIZE opinion - anybody participating becomes hated by some and loved by others. You can't wallow in that.
8. Er, any chance of logic? Watching a mate isn't the same thing as signing up to do the same thing.
Its a very interesting Question
I would hate them for trying to replace Freddie. I'm a fan of Q/PR for as long as they say that he isn't a Queen member.
The day Freddie is "replaced" the day I go mental and like a user above, would at least consider selling all my stuff
if they do the show, i will personally lose all support for all but john (unless he participates) and freddie. you could plainly see that inxs forgot they ever had another frontman, and it would be terrible for that to happen to queen.

Pecker in hand, rope around neck, chair leaning back.
What memory were you thinking of?
Humorous.
I meant it in the sense where it's often a horrible thing to replace a major band member, even when they're dead and gone. Why not just change the name of the band while you're at it? Create some new energy.
I hope not. But for some reason, i dont know that id go totally south and sell everything if they did. I wouldnt be thrilled, far from it i think outside of the fact that i could see 1/2 of my favorite band whom i love. And its kind of nice that it gives a whole new generation a chance to make REAL music. But i dont think they should do it under the Name QUEEN. But im not worried about it because i dont think its going to happen anyways.
They should stick with Paul working WITH them, as Paul isnt IN Queen, but performing with them.
Bloody INXS are an embarrasment. They were well past their peak even before Hutchence died, and after numerous cringeworthy attempts since to keep the brand alive, their last singer left them to host a reality TV series that ended up getting pulled off air!
If Queen do follow in the footsteps of INXS (and I'd love to hear Ben Elton's take on that!!), then out goes anything without Fred on it!
