well i was goin through all my albums yesturday n i was thinkin hmmm which cover looks best?
my opinion is that Jazz looks the best then prob Queen 2 then Sheer Heart Attack because all four just look darlin in that pic, they are soo cute! Freddie is sooo darn sexy in that pic.
So wat do u guys think?
This is quite difficult but I think the ones I like most are
Jazz - Simple but very affective.
News Of The World - Great Concept and use of Kelly Freas(sp?) Picture.
Innuendo - The Granville Pictures were great.
Loved the whole sequence of album and single covers for this album, except for the Headlong single sleeve. Always wondered why they opted for a band pic with blue background for that one and did not go for another Granville sketch. Not really complaining but would have been good to keep to the white background/Grandville picture format for all the singles.
I can understand why they did not use one for Bo Rhap/Days of our Lives but why not Headlong.
Anyway going off subject a bit now, so I'd better stop.
Hard to say. Queen II, obviously, is good, but it is blurred round the edges, which spoils it for me, but the one on my poster isn't lol. I think The Miracle is a great one, but it took me a while to get into, like the album itself. I like the cover for Fun In Space, it's really good. But my favourite Queen album cover is AKOM, with the wee cartoon Queen. It took me a while to work out that it was Queen, but it's a good one, always makes me smile.
Queen II and A Night at the Opera probably have the best covers. Queen II because of the iconic photograph (I mean, even Tenacious D has done a parody of it) and A Night at the Opera because of the beauty of the art and the fact that it became the band's logo.
Queen. I really like it. It just puts me in this place - this state of mind - that the other covers really fail to do. And it seems to fit the music inside. It's really brilliant, if you ask me.

I think headlong was a track that didn't suit the grangeur of that artwork- a gritty performance-based rock song. And after the IGSM video , they may have needed a picture to demonstrate that everything was alright with Fred's health.
Defintely Queen II. Mysterious, timeless, classic, masterpiece. That's why they used in on GVH1.
Then there's The Miracle. I presume it must've been very, very, very eye-catching in 1989. That's why they used it on GVH2.
I do like the composite on Hits III, brilliant idea by Peacock Design. I have a feeling it will be replicated on GVH3.
Those three aside, I think Queen artwork was a mostly an average affair. The same can be said for most of their videos. God, the band needed an exceptional visual communicator to help put their music across visually much better.
They can always consult The Flash Danny Project!
NOTW is the best of the best, cant believe anyone actually likes the Jazz album cover its dull and boring I think, what does it mean and for what reason.
i think A Night at the Opera. Its just so cool, a very cool crest, cool colours, with a simplistic white background. I also like the News of the world cover.

An albun cover doesnt have to reflect the title of the cd or the songs of the cd. In case, why have the cover so SHA - what does it mean as you say...or even hot space - the works?!?!
