Hi everybody !
I really hope Hyde Park 1976 is the next concert dvd. A concert from the seventies with a great setlist, a great stage (perhaps the coolest stage they ever had), a great performance, Freddies voice was in good shape and an amazing drumkit :P.
The highlights for me are really :
- The opening with the heavy rockpart of Bohemian Rhapsody is amazing
- A good version of Ogre Battle
- Flick of the wrist, what a song :D.
- A nice medley
- De solo in Brighton Rock is much better than for example on Earls Court
- They recently introduced '39 in the setlist in that time. It's cool to hear Roger sing the high part. He does it much better than on most other concerts such as Earls Court.
- The drumsolo in KYA
- Probably the best version of YTMBA ever
It's a pity that the sound is bad on the version we have. But what we hear aren't the mastertapes. It's just a very bad mix. Right ? A lot of sources and people say this. They are going to release the full performance of Sweet Lady on the ANATO documentary. We've heard bits of it in the short part of the documentary they showed us on the BBC and on the Dutch television. Could this mean that they have good mastertapes in good shape for the whole concert ? On the ANATO30th anniversary they show us the cleaned up pictures. Not only from Sweet Lady. But also from Bohemian Rhapsody, Ogre Battle and "39. The picture quality is amazing and good enough for a dvd release. Keep in mind that it has been filmed in 1976 !!
The way they filmed it, is good enough. They show us the amazing audience !!!! That's cool. That's really the thing I hate about Rainbow, Earls Court and Houston. They don't show a good image of the audience.
I had another thought. Could it be a marketing trick to only release Sweet Lady on the ANATO documentary ? So that people get excitted to buy this possible Hyde Park dvd. I think a lot of people buy the documentary dvd. Not only queen fans, but also musicians and other people interested in good music. People that would not buy the possible Hyde Park dvd when they didn't see the great footage. But hey, it's just a thought.
Common Queen productions, release a very nice concert of the seventies. Release Hyde Park !!!!!!!!

Does film of this exist? I would love this, but not sure if video of it is available.
Yes, it is completely filmed. Even some shots from a helicopter!
A great idea, but don't count on it. I love this show too. One of the best filmed concerts of Queen.
Anything 70s will be ok with me. I have preferences, but they can't go that far wrong...

i just hope the next dvd is from the seventies.
I mean, we have a pretty good chance. They have released the Wembely show ('86) The live aid show ('85) and the bowl show ('82) so we have a pretty good chance of getting a seventies show.
I'm rooting for the rainbow!!! :(
Rainbow might not be done...the audio was already released years back (wasn't it?)
So maybe not the Rainbow.
I would personally like to go for Hyde Park '76 as well, or anything from the 70's, like Hammerstein '79 or something like that (i haven't seen Queen live in the 70's so anything would be new to me).
wait...just found out that it's currently being shared. oh well
Well, something from the 70's would be pretty sweet.
Very nice story. I personally had the same thoughts when the Greatest videohits 1 DVD was released. There was WWRY-fast from Houston '77.I was expecting this to be released on the next DVD. So... everything is welcome now.
I can see HYDE PARK being released this year for two reasons one is that it will be 30 years ago they played there and to celebrate that they will put together a concert dvd worthy of that occasion.
The other i think is that they will also release hyde park 2005 with queen and paul rodgers as a double dvd pack, it would make sense to do that as the hyde park 76 and nearly 30 years later the 2005 gig.
Whatever i agree a seventies queen concert is desperatly needed by us who have been trounced with 80's gigs.

Yes, the bootlegvideo has a bad mix. Because of that, they sound a little false. But remember, it's a bootlegvideo, not a copy of the mastertape. I've heard the mastertapes are clean.

I assume the QTV video of the Hyde Park show is pretty low gen., of course the masters are certainly better, but it gives you an idea that probably the master is not of the same quality than the other videos from that era.
i want earls court to come out on dvd SO bad and hyde park is fine

That would be awesome!!!!
I have not seen this concert, is there any way that i can watch it if its not on dvd yet?
Another Queen production dvd to add to my collection.
I think that they should deffinately release hyde park to the public!!!!
Lets all make a petition and send it to Roger and Brian!!!
Don't be too surprised if they do wind up releasing this. I'm not betting on it, but on GH2 they released one song from MK. Next thing you know... On Fire at the Bowl comes out?
I don't think it's such a stretch.
