I know you are not asking me this question Asterik, however it is there to be answered, I believe Freddie looks ok in the clip, but he has also become increasingly thin, whether it is the black semi-fitted jump suit he is wearing makes him look this way i'm not too certain, but he does look increasingly thinner. But not over ill looking.
The glasses could be another guise to hide the gaunt appearances, but the glasses appear to match the theme of Freddie's character as well.
I have seen one pic some time ago where Mercury was without the glasses and he had a very serious look on he's face, he's parted hair cut style made him appear to look thin in the face, Im struggling to remember where I saw the pic though.
yes I think you make some good points there Abe- it's frustrating because he didn't have much stubble for that vid so one could roughly compare his appearance with say Barcelona. His hair was thinning a bit on that vid too.

I think that he looks better than he did in most videos and pictures...and he was full of energy.

Freddie really didn't look ill on that video. Same as on 'The Miracle' and 'Breakthru'. I think he looked a bit worse on 'Scandal' but that could just be me. But I think he did look bad there. 'I Want It All' he didn't look ill at all, on the DVD commentary Brian says he was in alot of pain on that video but he really doesn't show it.

Yes I agree with most of that. He looks fine on I Want It All, remove the beard and put on a moustache and he's hardly changed; if anything he looks like he'd put on weight. However, I don't think he looks too good on The Miracle, his face seemed very thin to me and that was filmed in Nov '89 so it would fit the deterioration- the fact he weras the yellow jacket accentuates the contrast with his Magic tour days.
Regarding the video commentary, I think brian was making a generalisation about the whole of 1989's videos becasue IWIA was the first one to appear (after AKOM)in the order. However on the amking of.. bit, he does look uncomfortable- if one turns up the volume very high, you can hear him complaining about he lights.

Maybe Freddie had a reason for wearing thr glasses, it seems very likely that he was hung over or something
He didnt look to bad in that vid but he looked like he was becoming ill.
I like the song but it is very "pop music" sounding

Yes it is quite pop music but I think it would have sounded grittier live- like AKOM and Bite the dust did. The guitar gives it some crunch though.
