New bootlegs have been added to the QOL store:
Domo arigato (Osaka, 24/10/1982)
Immigrant magic (Berlin, 26/06/1986)
When you don't wanna hear it (Frankfurt, 28/04/1982)
Who are these supposed "bootleg experts" they have hired? I haven't heard of any of them. The Frankfurt bootleg isn't pitch-corrected, and this version of Osaka is definitely not the best available, despite QOL's claims to provide only the best available. Since when was an audience recording the best available, anyway?
Almost every one of the official bootlegs has some kind of flaw to them, ranging from poor sound quality to being owned by the BBC or MobileVision. I can't believe this is actually continuing.
The solution is simple: bootlegs will not die a miserable death, but rather become obsolete if they sell soundboard recordings, not audience recordings. But if they want to stick with audience recordings, a good first step would be to research which audience recordings are the best, and to track them down. After that, perhaps they could remaster them a bit, and fix pitch issues where applicable.
Bah, why am I wasting my time? We all know this won't happen.
The Who sell soundboard recordings of their last couple of tours on their whostore site.
This is a good model to follow. Surely in their infinite wisdom, Queen can have a bash at this...
