I know Freddie flew first class from London to Germany in the early 80's, Some lady posted about sitting across from him in a music forum not long ago.
they went by boat over the seven seas of rhye, then got on there bikes and had a bicycle race to the top of the hill, the winner got the better chair in the studio and the others had to sit on the floor or something like that
but they probably used a plane, jet or a jet ski
"the winner got the better chair in the studio and the others had to sit on the floor or something like that"
Yeah but they only did that because they had no time for losers.
If the floor was taken, they'd probably just sit in the lap of the gods.
And the seat of the bicycle had the following message:
"Now I'm here, but even if you're my best friend and soul brother, don't try so hard, if you misfire, in only seven days you'll get all dead and be losers in the end. If you can't beat them join 'em and spread your wings while you keep passing the open windows, you know it's time for the hammer to fall.
Sincerely yours,

PS: Don't take offence at my innuendo".
But of course Roger missed many of those bicycle trips, because he was in love with his car.
For the 78 tour they rented the Lisa Marie which was Elvis' plane. Before that it was commercial flights and rented cars. I've seen a photo of the band standing in front of a winnebago around 75 (?) They all still had very long hair in the pic. For the Game tour in the States they used small jets to get to the gigs. Peter Freestones' book explains how they traveled during this tour. They would bas themselves in, for example, NYC and fly to the city airports for the gig and then back to NYC to their hotel. Basing in New York would allow them to travel to Hartford, Providence, Maine, New Hampshire etc.
