I know since a lot of you listen to Queen like me, a lot of you are probably into music like I am. I took Piano lessons when I was 13, but I actually want to start back. I used to sing in chorus in middle school, but I would love to start singing again, and not for the fame, just to sing again, just to do something in music...
Are there any musicians and vocalist in the house, and if so...where are you from, and are you serious about your craft?
Yep. I'm a singer and a voice teacher at a University in the US. Years of piano. Music (Voice) major at a University (Also US). Clasically trained. I've sung opera roles in Regional and Local companies here in the US. I figure that's partially how I got into Queen - because they're grandiose and theatrical - in a good way. And I love Freddie, too. In-freakin-credible voice! He didn't just sing, he *acted* with his voice.
I still sing - I have a church job, temple job, and I freelance as a soloist in oratorio literature.
I want to sing "Exercises in Free Love" in recital one day.
Keep singing, and have fun!
I play bass and fool around on the guitar. Most Queen songs, beyond just riffs, are mostly beyond me - to complex, or I can't matchup what I read on the page with what I hear in the song.
i sing too
i started to sing because of freddie, i've said to myself "i know i can't sing like him, but i want to learn to sing"
and in an incredible way, my 2 teachers said that i have some similaritys with his voice
i was surprised about that!
i have a lot of queen songs (the karaoke stuff) and i sing with that tracks
now im going to start guitar lessons
jaja, and of course, i know i wont play like Brian jaja
ok, i am a lead guitaist in a band called Zodiac, we are every serious. We cover bands such as Queen, Led Zepp, Deep Purple and Free. We are right now in the process of writng a song.

p.s i am the youngest and the only girl!!
Hello to everybody!
I'm new here and just want to answer the question: yes, there are musicians in the house, I'm the lead singer of a totally unknown (but still brilliant :-) ) group called Crossfire. Our influences are Queen, The Beautiful South, Sting, Roxy Music, Billy Joel and wonderful stuff like that. Here you have one link for one of our latest songs and another for our only cover: In The Lap Of The Gods (recorded in november 2001...)
Your comments would be highly appreciated. However, for bad comments use the address: formatia_crossfire@yahoo.com :-)))
I play piano, clarinet, and very little guitar.
I'm also a singer!

I'm an Operatic and I can play the drums and bass just about....
Yeah I'm serious about my craft. The one thing that pisses me off is when i audition for a band they ALL-WAYS tell me my voice isn't what their looking for.....One twat told me that my voice is only good for a Queen tribute band........Or for River Dance....I told him that he'd look better with a black-eye then insult me....
I'm a (semi-pro)guitarist (and occasionally backing vocalist ;-)
I'm without a band at the moment, and to be honest even though I'd like to be in one again, I wouldn't know where to find the time to rehearse ;-)))
I never was able to live from my music solely, but I did earn some money (and still do) doing studiowork as a session-guitarist with some known or less-known Dutch bands.
<font color=FF0099>Linda Of The Valley wrote: I haven't picked up my guitar in like a year :( I was becoming so frustrated that I couldn't form a band..and then my electric guitar fucked up and I didn't really have the time to play anymore.
same here man, I started taking lessons when I was six, got my first electric when I was seven, and about two years ago, I ended my lessons with the teacher dude, because he wasn't really teaching me anything new anymore. Sadly however, that has made it nearly impossible for me to practice do to time issues. I'm gonna take lessons up again though, that way I can force time to practice, I miss it like hell....

Im a trained vocalist who reguarly sings with my friends band.its a great feelin bein on stage aint it?
Man...you guys are really doing ya thang...!!
I'm just not a group/band kinda girl, if I was to get serious about music, I see myself being a solo artist, if anything. It's not that I dont get along with other people...I just see myself beign more of a solo artist if anything...
TO EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD, KEEP GOING, AND DONT LISTEN TO WHAT PEOPLE SAY...KEEP YA HEAD UP AND STAY POSITIVE!!
I've played bass for about 12 years, guitar for nearly ten (still a bit crap though) I also dabble in drums when I get the chance. However, my main passion is singing - I've been in and out of bands for the past nine years or so, and I've actually just joined a new one, so keep an eye out on the Coventry scene. I've been writing music for a good few years, and I record in my home studio (read spare room!) If you want to hear what I get up to, click any of the links in my signature!
