Last year i visited the ROTC show in Rotterdam om 26th April. During the show i neved had the feeling i was listening to the music of Queen.. And, i wondered why that was.
A few weeks ago, i downloaded the Saitama show. During I Want It All.. Brian plays 2 short solo's. These bits are played faster than the song.. I've heard it over and over.. I heard Queen!!
So.. conclusion.. when the band would play at the old speed.. the same as during the Freddie days.. it would be more Queen than it is now.
Are there more people who experienced the same problem with the "new" Queen??

You saw a band getting its "sea legs", for lack of a better term.
I think that you will see a vastly different product out there on the US tour. They are all more comfortable with the material, and with each other.
Personally, I quite like songs being played slightly faster live. It gives them more energy. I don't want to go to a concert and hear an album played note for note - I can do that at home. Most bands play fast when they start a tour, as has been said, before they have their "sea legs". Some bands even get faster as the tour goes on! You can't say Now I'm Here doesn't sound better live, and that was played at almost twice the speed of the original!
I Want It All live is longer and more imperious I reckon. They leave in that 'slower' solo from the big version, they stretch out the intro... I pretty much think that's how they would've done it in the old days anyway.
Older Queen songs got a similar treatment when they were still touring in the 80's.
