There seems to be a lot of people on this site who thought this tour was bad- I did not see it myself but bought Final live as a souvenir from it. SOme of the songs sound awful like Tie Your Mother Down with what sounds like synths layered over the guitar- was this just bad CD mixing or were heavier songs ruined by these synthesisers anyway? The set list was excellent harking back to old times but on some of the songs fred's voice is worn, worse than on the magic tour. Also, I can't stand the rendition of Bite The Dust- the drum sound is terrible- were they deliberately trying a minimal version of it or did it just come out like that?
Yours in puzzlement,

on the works tour, queen wanted to try a new sound, like they did hot space, roger was in the experimentation period, where he wanted to use different sounds like electronic drums.
in some boots it sounds good, like radio ga ga, AOBTD sometimes sounds really good but in some boots it dont.
that tour was mainly experimentation for the band. i agree on the fact the guitar doesnt sound nearly as heavy as it should be, fairly weak to be honest. but otherwise nothing special.
also note they played indoor arenas on that tour, with most of hot space they played outdoors. then outdoors again for magic tour. all edxperimentation. lights, stagin etc.
