Could I ask a favour? Is there a chance any one could extract and upload Roger's vocals from I'm In Love With Car? I've had an idea involving those, my acoustic guitar and - well, I don't want to give too much away... |
john bodega 09.02.2006 06:50 |
I can't. Someone might be able to give you a dirty version. I don't have the A Night At the Opera DVD-A but if the DTS has an isolated version of his vocals you'd be in luck. Another source to consider is ROTC - there might be vocals you can use from that. (I don't have that either). |
mystic_rhythms 09.02.2006 10:38 |
I have ROTC...i'll check it out. No guarantees, though; DVD rips don't always turn out the way you want them to :p |
Great King Sam 09.02.2006 13:47 |
No probs. I am grateful for your offers of help. |
Adam Baboolal 14.02.2006 16:48 |
I put this together since I didn't see anyone posting anything from the ANATO dvda. link I made it with Adobe Audition. I've forgotton which program allows you to extract channels from the dvda. Anyone..? Peace, Adam. |

Dvd audio extractor |
Lord Fickle 15.02.2006 06:30 |
Yes, DVD Audio Extractor, but IILWMC doesn't have an isolated vocal channel. |
Daniel vZ 15.02.2006 06:40 |
You're right, the only song that has a (almost)isolated vocal track is Play The Game |
Lord Fickle 15.02.2006 06:55 |
...and Love Of My Life. |
FriedChicken 15.02.2006 12:02 |
No, love of my life also has bass |
Great King Sam 15.02.2006 12:39 |
Thanks alot Adam, much appreciated. Far better than a few of my efforts. |

Could anybody email me this please? My computer and rapidshare seem to have a mutual dislike of each other. Kind of annoying, I know. Sorry guys! |

I had the same idea; was messing about on my acoustic guitar and thought that I'm In Love With My Car would sound fantastic with just an acoustic guitar. I take it you can only remove the vocals from these fancy new DVD albums? Although I'm not sure the vocal from the album track would sound right with an acoustic guitar; I would like to hear someone else record an acoustic version of it. Does no harm to try it though. |
Lord Fickle 02.03.2006 15:25 |
.DeaconJohn. wrote: I take it you can only remove the vocals from these fancy new DVD albums? You can only fully isolate the vocals, if you have a 5.1 audio (DVD / DVD-A) track(s) to work from, and even then, there are only one or two Queen songs where the vocal is in a completely separate channel. Otherwise, you still get other instruments in the mix, which can sometimes sound OK, if you just want a sort of 'stripped down' version, or want to play around with mixing, like some of us do on here. So basically, the answer to your question, is yes, but IILWMC doesn't have an isolated vocal track, so in effect, it can't be removed. |
john bodega 02.03.2006 23:33 |
I'm praying that if they ever do an Innuendo one, that at least one of the tracks on that will have isolated vocals on it... meh. :D |

does any tracks on ROTC have isolated vocal tracks? |
john bodega 04.03.2006 07:11 |
"Probably Delilah! Lol!" Heh yes I've heard how much you dislike that one... (at least I think it was you). I actually quite like the song but not for musical reasons. Isolated vocals on ROTC? I don't think so actually, however someone discovered that you could seperate Brian's guitar completely from the rest of the soundtrack, creating (in effect) a Brainless Concert - whoops, did I mean "Brian"less?? |
Lord Fickle 04.03.2006 08:51 |
That means you could also create a version with just Brian in it. I think that might be taking the Guitar Extravaganza a bit far! |
deleted user 05.03.2006 09:34 |
which dvd audio extracter are you all using? i want to see if i can rip some U2 tracks without bonos voice so its like live karaoke lol, but which programme do you all use? and how do you use it? one i downloaded was very confusin and peed me off >( |

"That means you could also create a version with just Brian in it. I think that might be taking the Guitar Extravaganza a bit far!" Ah you know us guitarists, Fickle - we love to hear ourselves. |

"i want to see if i can rip some U2 tracks without bonos voice so its like live karaoke lol, but which programme do you all use? and how do you use it? one i downloaded was very confusin and peed me off >(" Hmmm. It all depends on what you're trying to get the karaoke song from. Songs with loads of reverb on the voice are usually a bitch to try and 'devocal' as they say... uh. I'm really not knowledgable about this, other than there's no "perfect" way to do it without actually having access to the unmixed stuff. |

I use Sony Soundforge 7, and Adobe Audition 1.5, both of which can be found as trial versions, or full versions, if you know where to look (**cough** torrents **cough**). You then use DVD Audio Extractor to rip the 5.1 channel tracks as individual files, then use either or both of the above, for the re-editing stages. |

does each channel go under as "cells"??? otherwise im very confused on how to rip channels using DVD Audio Extractor :S |
Lord Fickle 06.03.2006 14:11 |
When you lauch DVD Audio Extractor, it will list the track numbers, and on the left hand side, you can select '6 Ch DTS', '2 Ch Stereo', etc. When you select the 6 channel track and click Next, it will then ask if you want to extract the channels to separate files, which you tick the box for if you want to do so. Create a folder for the ripped files, and click Start. When finished, you will have a folder with the 6 channels (Front L/R, Rear L/R, Centre and Sub), numbered 1-6. I have found that channel 4 is usually the sub woofer channel, and channel 3 is the centre channel. Channels 1&2 are Front L/R and 5&6 are Rear L/R (or vice versa). Hope that helps. |
deleted user 06.03.2006 14:43 |
when i launch it, i click on the dts 6 channel thingy, then when i click next, for channels all i get is a pull down box that says "mono, stereo, joint stereo" nothing that allows it to be split :S plus when i try with return of the champs i dont get two files, one which is brian and one which is the rest, higly annoying >( |
Lord Fickle 06.03.2006 17:15 |
Either you're not selecting the six channel mix on the first screen, or what you are trying to extract is in fact only 2 channel stereo. When I use the ANATO DVD-A, in that drop down list you mentioned, I get Mono, Stereo or All 6 Channels. By selecting All 6 Channels, this enables the tick box to save each channel to a separate file. I only get the options you described, when not using a 5.1 channel source. With ROTC, you'll have to rip all 6 channels, then find the guitar channels out of the 6. I suspect these may be channels 1&2, but have not tried this for myself. |
deleted user 07.03.2006 13:38 |
with ROTC i only get the mono/stereo/joint stereo :S and it says only two cells, its really annoyin, i will play round some more, its not cos i have to register is it? |
Lord Fickle 07.03.2006 18:23 |
Mine is registered, but I don't know if it makes any difference, as I haven't used a non-registered version. After selecting 6 channel DTS, I get the All 6 Channels option in the drop down list on screen 2. I really can't answer why it's not working for you. |
deleted user 08.03.2006 12:29 |
i got it work9ing, it doesnt work with mp3, just wav and the others really... you got a keygen to register it? |
Lord Fickle 08.03.2006 15:26 |
I have, but it's for version 2.2.1. You probably have a later version, so I don't know if the keygen will still work with it, but if you want to give me an email address, I'll happily send it to you. |

deleted user 08.03.2006 16:28 |
got the keygen and believe it or not the keygen on its own works with version 3.5.1 thanks my lord |

No problem. |

(waves arms madly) NO piracy here! Nope, that's not what they're doing. They're exchanging keygens for, uh... Microsoft Paint! (dances) Absolutely nothing dodgy here, move alooong.... |
