What was your greatest Queen moment when you were listening to Queen, wearing a Queen shirt or talking about Queen? Here's mine:
In 5th grade, I was in this program called Destination Imagination, and we had moved up into the state of Maryland competition at Towson University (which was about 3 hours away from our school) and a few of the girls on my DI team had heard of Queen but hadn't really been "enlightened" yet, so I brought a Queen Greatest Hits 1 cd for us to listen to. I played Bohemian Rhapsody, and told everyone that I would count down from three, and we would all head bang as soon as the solo came on. Well, we got out on the freeway and we hit some traffic, and finally....the solo came up....I counted down from three and my DI coach turned the volume all the way up and opened all of the windows in the van-
<marquee>we head banged like no one's business!!!!<marquee>
The van was shaking and we repeated this cycle about five times; at the end our hair was metal head and we had floppy, weak necks.
Ah, the good times.... =)
Mwa haha! My great moment was somewhat like that. Only lamer because it just happened and I'm in the 10th grade.
We had just gotten done w/ a high school basketball game and a celebration dinner (we won), so my friends (7 ppl approx) wanted to hear Bohemian Rhapsody. Ususally we bust out during a game a capella, and scare ppl around us, but we forgot this time. So after dinner, we all went to my car, (a geo metro...tiny) and squished in, and turned Bohemian Rhapsody up full blast! My car was SHAKING in its parking spot. Ppl were piled on ppl, everyone was singing loudly, and we each took over an instrument to "play". (hooray for the air mic stand!) It was glorious. We followed up with Under Pressure and Killer Queen. :-D
My greatest Queen moments have been to date....
1.Going to two entire Queen tours.
2.Meeting them all at various times.
3.Shouting "Theres Only One Roger Taylor" in the middle of the theatre just at the moment it went quiet. Its wasnt quite a great moment, it was more of an embarrasing moment.... I wouldnt have minded so much but Brian heard it.
