The first and only Smile reunion took place at Marquee Club in London, on 21st and 22nd december 1992. Brian and Tim Staffel joined Roger and The Cross on stage to perform Earth and If I were carpenter. The video I'm offering comes from a quite low generation tape I got many years ago and which a good friend of mine encoded for me some days ago. The shot is quite far but the event is unique and worth a watch.
This video is part of the multimedia section on link it's usually for subscribed users only, but in this case I made an exception to pay tribute to the most fantastic Queen community existing.
This is also the occasion to say my opinion about some ungrateful posts I've read on here recently, being me a long serving member on QZ: how can people complain about the few recordings shared recently on this section? We all came across some of the rarest recording ever, a lot of dvds, demos, live gigs in lossless format...I'd have got more on this section than in 5 years of collecting, 10 years ago... so don't complain and be grateful to QZ, to Richard and everybody who's giving his own help, both informations or multimedia files.
And now... just enjoy the file :) link
Nice one Luca !!
I was lucky enough to be at the 2nd night. The event was The Cross's Xmas Party and I believe the whole concert was filmed by Jackie of the Fan Club on a video camera that we all gave to her as a gift at the previous convention.
She has the only master and quite rightly is very protective over it. I would love dearly to see the full concert as I was leaping around like a mad man in the front row just to the right and caught Claytons Santas hat after many times of tapping his fret board ;-)
A great concert & thanks again for the download.
Great stuff.Many thanks!
Is there anyone here who finds it easier to watch this than when Paul's singing with Brian & Roger?...Just seems more natural to me, but then again,no one could ever replace Freddie :-(
