This has probably been discussed before, but still...
What do you, personally, think of when listening to Queen tunes.
Aside from the band themselves, that is.
For some reason, I keep associating Headlong with the subway here in Toronto. Go figger.
And for the Invisible Man, why do I think of Michael Jackson?!
Ride The Wild Wind - a new roller coaster at Disneyland called 'The Wild Wind'
Hammer To Fall and Keep Yourself Alive -
Imagining Queen live on stage outdoors
These Are The Days Of Our Lives -
Just thinking of Freddie;)
I'm In Love With My Car -
Roger singing while waxing his beloved automobile
Heaven For Everyone - Relaxing out at the pool with a tall glass of ice cold lemonade.
who wants to live forever- i just picture the scottish highlands, because of the movie. the sweeping synth sounds really give the feel of steep valleys.
The whole of Queen II- i picture some sort of fantastical landscape with fairies and ogres and witches and wizzards. kind of like 'lord of the rings' ish...
Kashoggis Ship, i actually picture Queen playing on a kind of..oil tanker thing. That would have made a great video. Is that song REALLY about a ship or what?
This is a Brillant question! I hope this thread will pick up steam, its always fun to see something through the eyes of others.
It depends on the day and mood im in when i listen to an album or song because sometimes i can see different things.
I have seen myself interacting with the band in some songs like on Breakthru, like when Freddie and Debbie were doing their little duet deal.
Who Wants To Live Forever- Someone trying to call it off with their love because they have had much heartache and dont want to risk another. But in the end, they wind up together and it takes place on some majestic countryside or seaside.
Queen II- Total fantasy land of faries etc and humans in like a competely beautiful land. As well as with My Fairy King.
Teo Toriatte- I see Freddie/or someone as like a ghost figure in the backround singing to a lost loved one, (whether it be a break up or other means) as they remember him and their relationship. But it takes place in some majestic Japanese garden with water lilies and slowly flowing river at night under the stars.
When the night comes down- Brian is like explaining to someone his true nature, that there is more to him that meets the eye. That the way he is on the surface has different feelings from within. This also takes place at night under the stars, i always get a feeling of early fall time.
Liar- Freddie is pleading with God or an elder figure or perhaps a friend for forgiveness. And everytime he tries to apologize and act like hes turning another direction, the others chime in LIAR! with a flash of lightning as he is telling the lies. Then on the "Liar, Liar, Liar" section which Fred sings himself, hes saying an aside to himself that he is in fact lying. While he knows hes lying, hes pleading for forgiveness.
Among others, but ill be here forever. Ill add more later.
Heaven for Everyone: Freddie's spirit sitting in with Roger as he's writing the tune. Especially if it's Fickle's duet mix.
Was It All Worth It: Fire & brimstone. Redemption. Freddie in a broken cathedral asking the questions in the song. Stuff like dat dere.
I want to break free - me entering my living room in high heels, a wig and a leather mini-skirt with a vacuum cleaner... yes, i can picture that quite well! lol ;D love it!
