i have been thinking of getting that box set, but its so darn expensive, $230. But if i get that, does that come with the 145 page color book? I read somewhere that it does, but the one that i read was not the imported one. So im wondering if the import one has the book. plus whats the diff between the regular and the import one?ty
Where are you looking to get it?
All of the deluxe Freddie Sets, not the 3 disc jobber that Hollywood released, came with the big book. Also, technically speaking, all of them are imports since the US never received the big box set.
It should come with the book. That's the whole reason for the large packaging, it seems.
Also, have you looked around for it cheaper? Seems there were a few spots selling it for inder $200 last fall. What about Ebay, for instance?
I know $230 is a lot of money, but it is so worth it for the 10 CDs and 2 DVDs, and book. It's not a booklet! It's a gorgeous book. It also includes "liner notes," if you will, for all the CDs.
If you can spring for it, do it! I don't think you'll be sorry. :)
Check to see if the DVDs are PAL or NTSC. If you're in the States, you won't be able to play the PAL DVDs on a regularDVD player, but you might be able to play them on your computer.
Okay what i think im going to get is this one link
Will i be able to play the dvds? (I live in the states as you can see) And where does it say what type are the dvds?

I have no idea...
I just popped the DVDs into the computer, and I was lucky.
Alternately, maybe you can find "The Freddie Mercury Solo Video Collection" NTSC on Ebay. Same with "Freddie Mercury - The Untold Story." I know NTSC bootlegs exist of the Untold Story. (Ebay). The Solo Video Collection is now out of print (grrrr). Last time I looked on Amazon, the cheapest was $75!!! But try Ebay.
i'll have to spend $50 on a new dvd player that plays pal then..Im wondering if i have to have different CD player to play those CDs (that come with the box set) Oh i hope not.
Not wishing to rub it in, but boy am I glad I got mine when it did. Sixty five of my English Pounds....which even when converted over to your meaningless foreign runes is considerably cheaper...
Tell me...where has the huge hike in price come from...???
Hey i can beat that i've just purchased the freddie mercury boxset with 10cds and two dvd's for a cheap 56 pounds.
Wohoooooooooo what a bargain hey!!!!!!.
Just got to wait for it now in the post.
I got it from that store in 2000 when it came out I think for the same price, and have never actually seen it in a store off the internet anywhere else, so I was happy to pay.

the reason for such a rush, is it said that only 2 were in stock so i was like Oh i better hurry! lucky you people that got it for a much cheaper price than me. But as always, i spend my money foolishly or pay WAY over than most people, this is an example..
