All God's People Working title: “Africa By Night”. Began life during Freddie’s solo 1987 Barcelona sessions Freddie Mercury solo Barcelona version - Unreleased: Just to clarify things in my head - Is this listing a reference to a third version of All God's People, one that ocurred between the original 1987 Africa By Night version and the 1991 version on Innuendo? Did Freddie cut two demos to the song before the band got involved? |

Freddie Mercury/ Montseratte Caballe: Barcelona - RECORDED 1987/ Released Oct 1988 The history should read: Africa By Night Freddie solo Barcelona demo. It had to do with your re-naming of the demo and the double listing in 1987 and 1988 (Africa By Night in 1987, All God's People in 1988). As usual, I read too much into it. EDIT - ok, we're on the same page now :) |

Thanks John! One little note: Dog With A Bone exists in few versions - with spoken messages by the band members (but without those "Get the double tempo" lines, convention version) and without it. And by the way: so title of the song is "Dog With A Bone", not "Good Times"? "It's In Everyone Of Us" - 2:30? I think my copy of that track is about 4 mins :) Haven't heard about "Freddie Mercury/Caballe: Live Avinguda De Maria Christina Stadium, October 1988 Barcelona"... |

Black Sabbath: Headless Cross Recorded 1988/ Released 1989 UK LP - EIRSA 1002 UK CD - IRS EIRSACD 1002 Recorded August - November 1988, at Soundmill Studios, Woodcray. Released April 1989 – No 31. Produced by Toni Iommi and Cozy Powell. Vocals Tony Martin, Keyboards Geoff Nicholls. Brian May guest guitarist. Recorded same time as Nothin’ But Blue (Back To The Light), and Somewhere In Time (Drums Are Back) Gates Of Hell, Headless Cross, Devil And Daughter, When Death Calls, Kill In The Spirit World, Call Of The Wild, Black Moon, Rightwing When Death Calls (Brian May Guitar) Just a quick thought, but wasn't 'Nothin but Blue' written a few years later...if I can recall something, I think there was an interview saying that it was actually one of the tracks about Freddie, and how they haven't toured in forever, etc. I don't know...forgive me if I'm off my rocker... |

'The Drums Are Back' - Cozy Powell. 'Back To The Light' - Brian May. I think this was also a period of time when Cozy Powell and Brian May were particulary close. |

Yes, you "apologise for any careless omissions or errors..." Does that mean that no one can say that there is a spelling error? No, of course not. When someone adds a spelling error, does that mean that he doesn't appreciate all the time and effort you are putting into this? No, of course not. We all (including me) appreciate your work very much. OK, ontopic, I could say that I miss the two different stand-alone versions of 'Guide me home', like I did (and someone else too) in an other topic, but I won't because obviously you didn't appreciated my additions there, so probably you won't appreciate them here too. No hard feelings... and I still appreciate all the work and effort you put into it. |

Once again, great information, thanks a lot. This is most interesting: "Offenbach’s Tales Of Hoffman 1 & 2 - Unreleased: Home Mini-Disc" Could you tell us more about those recordings? What are the exact titles of the songs and are those serious attempts? Also, what about the pieces "1&2" by Chopin and the Bach-preludes? |
Bohardy 24.01.2006 12:45 |
I'm sure Hank that those pieces you mention are just Mike Moran messing about on the piano. I don't know if you've heard The Girl From Ipanema, Misty and the Musical Excerpts 1-5 that John mentions (they're commonly available), but in those snippets it's clear that you've just got Mike playing around (rather brilliantly) on the piano with the others singing along. |

Nothing that I know of, apart from what it is stated at BMI's site. |

"Juegale, Apuestale" is the Spanish title of the version of "Play The Game" by ATERCIOPELADOS which can be found on the Latin tribute CD called "TRIBUTO A QUEEN". |

Sorry to bump this tread, but in this discussion at Queenzone: link someone posted a link to this site where you can read a quote by Montserrat Caballe: link She´s talking about Freddie´s voice, and a duet that they have made for her to analise his voice. She thinks that this duet was recorded. To John S Stuart: Is this in any of your "improvisations" minidiscs you have, or is this something new to you too? Take care |
John S Stuart 04.11.2006 17:38 |
Bobby: To be honest, Violetta’s and Germont’s ‘Dite alla giovine’ from ‘La Traviata’ are alien to me, simply because I am not an opera buff. (However, I think part of ‘La Traviata’ was used as the intro to 'It's A Hard Life' - but I may be wrong there). What I need to do now is find a copy of the referenced tracks, and hold them against the reel-to-reel versions. If they match they are the same. If not, then they are not. I am sorry to be so vague, but unless I compare the one against the other, I can not reply with any assurity. However, I will work on this straight away - and if anyone was able to send me samples of ‘Dite alla giovine’ - it could be sooner than later. (BTW: Good reference to the interview itself, I had not read that before). |
Bobby_brown 04.11.2006 19:26 |
