Look I really cant help cause I dont have the money for it but Queen Picture Hall needs help because it is really a good site for reference Here is the Letter from Ron: I am thinking of shutting down this website, as I don't have the time, wills and money to do it anymore. Is there anybody out there who is willing to take over this website and handle it with the love and care that I did in the past eight years? You will need a domain plus webspace that can hold approx 200MB plus some nice bandwith. I rather hand over this website instead of taking it completely offline and therefore removing a good resource from the net. Please leave a message or email me when you have any questions or when you are interested! Thanks. Just bringing it up for any who can help. |

So Ron is shutting down the site? Seems like this was gonna happen for a long time, if the not-so-very-frequent updates were a sign on the wall.... I guess it would take some time to get the whole thing back up to speed again. No thanks, anyone for tennis? |

Sad news :( (My first thought was you mean Queen Productions Ltd.) |

Seems like Martin is ready to help: link But if it needs in temporary back-up - our PCs could help too, I think... |

Indeed sad news- used this site so many times!!! |

Very sad news, hopefully it will go to a new home and a valuable source will remain. A big hand for Ron I think. |
Thanks 19.01.2006 14:40 |
Definitely. Ron, I can't help but your efforts over the years have made a huge contribution to my Queen knowledge. |

Could some of the content be transferred over to QueenZone to keep it alive? |

Thanks a lot to all for all the sympathy! I've been thinking about this for a long, long time (at least a year) and this is the first time that I've come out with it. I knew that the site had some kind of value but not like this. Anyway, the good news for you is that the contract with the web host will last for another year. So it wont go offline after all. I will see what I can do for next year. Thanks for all the support and offers! |

It's good to know that queenpicturehall stays online. It reminds me that we should not take all the work and effort of the website owners for granted, mainly when the websites are maintained and updated regularly. |

I'm glad to hear that the site won't be closing for the moment...It's one of my favourite Queen sites, with so much love and knowledge put into it. Thanks, Ron, and I hope there is finally a way to carry it on ...FOREVER.:) |

There are some pretty smart people in here who would probably jump at the chance to help Ron out, since it is a very good site. Unfortunately, I am dumber than a toaster. |

You understand that Queen Picture Hall is one of the best rock n' roll websites that there ever has been is don't you? There are very few artists that have a website that has as much detailed, concise, and easy to read and follow websites with as much information as the one you have. Please don't let that one go. Please someone pick it up. |

You forgot about Andy Young's site... |
fredmie 24.01.2006 07:22 |
Andy Youngs site was the first Queen site I ever visited - but its not really updated any more I don't think. The sites I visit (in order of amount of times visited per week) ; * QueenZone * Official Brian May site * The Official Queen Site * Shanes Queen Site * Queen Picture Hall ... (of course!) * Mercury Paradise * Queen, The Videos Any comments ? |
Mr. Scully 24.01.2006 08:35 |
Indeed, Andy's site was about the very first Queen site that I've ever visited. Very good source of info. But there were no updates and the navigation was shit => it was impossible to find anything. |
The Fairy King 24.01.2006 14:43 |

I visited the website with a 28K modem over my phone line. When I was online my phone did not work:) |

When I'm at home, I'm also connected only via modem - and my phone doesn't work at that time, of course. That's not funny, that's sad reality! :-) I think we have about the second most expensive internet connection in the EU... :-( |

I did not mean it funny :) At least you have a mobile phone... |
