1. DREAM THEATER- love them as much as Queen. Their gig in hammesmith, when they played Dark Side Of The Moon was musically the best experience of my life
2. PINK FLOYD- yep, absolutely love them!!!
3. DEEP PURPLE, espeially Mk II (Gillan / Blackmore / Paice / Lord / Glover)- an ultimate rock band, Machine Head, In Rock and Fireball are all masterpieces!!! Made In Japan is the best live album EVER.
4. METALLICA- saw them at Reading- mindblowing, pity they were done after Black Album...
5. SYSTEM OF A DOWN- just love those guys- crazy as hell, but so much energy and so amny ideas!!! Extremely fresh music!!!
6. BLACK SABBATH- Ozzy and Dio era though only- Gillan I love but not in Sabbath, Martin was bad...

Well, then:
Pink Floyd
Uriah Heep
Depeche Mode
Hey Serry, glad to see we've got another Heep fan here, hugely underrated in my view. Have you heard Firefly, it's one of my all time favourite albums, the rhythm section is just so tight. Their sound around that time reminds me of Stormbringer era Deep Purple (another one of my faves), lots of fast, tight, driving rhythms with the odd killer ballad thrown in for good measure.
Anyhoo, back on topic. Some people don't seem to understand the difference between 'favourite bands'( of which I expect most people have half a dozen at most) and 'other bands I like'(resulting in long lists nobody's interested in reading). If in a list of fifteen to thirty bands you like, there are a few that stand out as being the best of the list, then they, by definition, are your favourites. Still, I suppose it's not killing anyone, perhaps I'm just feeling grumpy this morning. Please ignore this rant and accept my profuse apologies.
All sorts of stuff!
