I saw this on eBay for a very low price and bought it. I thought why would it be just one hour when their concerts were all much longer than that. What did they cut out? The sleeve reads: "At 2:00 a.m. on the 12th January, 1985, Queen stepped out on stage to make one of their most historic concert appearances to date. Freddie, Roger, John and Brian faced a crowd of well over 250,000 people, the largest crowd ever assembled for a single concert. The occasion was the opening of the Rock In Rio Festival, an extraordinary ten-day event billed as '90 hours of peace and music' -- a coming-together of many of the world's most important music artistes for what was intended to be the biggest rock celebration since Woodstock in 1969. Having previously trail-blazed Latin America with their pioneering tour in 1981, it was only fitting that the opening ceremony should be staged by Queen, and their return to the country was without doubt the most eagerly anticipated moments in the festival." Tie Your Mother down, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Keep Yourself Alive, Liar, It's A Hard Life, Now I'm Here, Is This The World We Created?, Love Of My Life, Brighton Rock, Hammer To Fall, Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Gaga, I Want To Break Free, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, God Save The Queen. The massive crowd shots are astonishing. Brian in white shirt and white pants has a bright red sash around his waist and then it comes down below his right knee. Freddie is in white tights and top with black lightning bolts and a red sash. I always wondered when I saw pictures of that outfit, what concert it was from. Freddie near the end dons his It's A Hard Life's poofy, black wig that sits about six inches on/above his head and falls below his butt. To cap it off, there are fireworks at the end of their set. link I never grow tired of watching Queen. |

Hmmm, the second time around I had it playing in one room, but I was listening to it in another. Freddie's voice was really not good that day throughout. What a disappointment to be singing to that masssive audience but not at your best. I skimmed through five or six of my Queen books to see if the authors had any comments on that concert, but I could only find references to Queen having been there. I wasn't looking for put-downs - just maybe some reasons why. |

Freddie's voice on the 1984 and 1985 tours weren't at their best, but you certainly won't find any kind of criticism in books by people like Jacky Smith or Greg Brooks. |

Strange, I always thought that Live In Rio was one of the better Works-tour performances. |

Is this the video version that Freddie forgets some of the words at the beginning of It's A Hard Life. |

Rock In Rio is a VERY nice performance! I mean, it's all the quality of that VHS that destroys it. I mean if you've got the Jewels docu, there are like 20 minutes of Rio, in outragious quality, and it simply ROCKS! They wheren't at their best indeed, but they where't bad either. And it is the most glamerous Queen show EVER. OUTREGIOUS costumes (Freddie wearing IAHL wig, the IWTBF outfit). A HYPER FABULOUS STAGE a sky of lights turning screws and an awful ammount of smoke :D. 250.000 enthusiastic people. |

I have Live In Rio, and it sounds like some of you have Rock In Rio. Were they both 1985? I believe the Rio Festival went for 90 hours, and my Live In Rio sleeve reads that Queen opened the event. Freddie is not wearing his famous I Want To Break Free costume in the one I have. |
