I don't get why he keeps posting that stuff though. It's already been uploaded many times, why is he telling people it's "official" yet it continues to get spread around?
Or is it because the source material isn't official, therefore it's fair game?
If the video I just got is allowed to be here, why not just link to that, rather than giving people the misapprehension that they can't download it here? I don't get it.

Zebonka12: I don't make the rules, I just follow them like everyone else - and Golden Rule number one is: No Official Downloads.
The reason for this is because this practice is ILLEGAL - and every so often Queen Productions DO trawl the Internet and DO get nasty. (There ARE those who visit this site who have had some nasty experiences with Queen Productions - but that is for them to say and not for me to 'out').
Worst case scenario is that this site can be severely damaged or even forced to close down - I know that sounds a bit melodramatic, but none of us would like that to happen - would we?
If material has mistakenly been shared in the past (For example Dark's 2005 Teo Torriate) does that mean we have to keep compounding the mistake?
I think that sharing the Knebworth video, and/or the 'unreleased' tracks may be a grey area, therefore some could logistically argue in favour of uploading these. However, I can not see how any one can successfully argue for the uploading of such blatantly obviously official material which can be found in almost any High Street store.

We're here! Serry, Mr Scully etc.
"I don't make the rules, I just follow them like everyone else - and Golden Rule number one is: No Official Downloads."
Aye I getcha there.

Yes.
"Worst case scenario is that this site can be severely damaged or even forced to close down - I know that sounds a bit melodramatic"
Not at all, if anything it sounds realistic.
"-but none of us would like that to happen - would we?"
Would it get rid of BPP? :D
"If material has mistakenly been shared in the past (For example Dark's 2005 Teo Torriate) does that mean we have to keep compounding the mistake?"
Of course not. For the record, I downloaded that because I couldn't buy the thing in a shop. Bad me.
"I think that sharing the Knebworth video, and or the 'unreleased' tracks may be a grey area, therefore some could logistically argue in favour of uploading these."
Actually that's what I was getting at in my post. I wasn't saying 'Why can't we download Knebworth', more 'if the Knebworth I'm downloading was recorded amateurly, can I get it that way?'.
"However, I can not see how any one can successfully argue for the uploading of such blatantly obviously official material which can be found in almost any High Street store."
Of course not.
Yah, I really was just saying since this has already been uploaded once or twice here, your information would be better appreciated in the actual Announce Thread. Either that, or one could link the person who asked in the first place to that thread.
