Serry,
Freddie mentioned many times the people he admired in the 80's ... The only thing Freddie didnt do (if I am correct) is to critizise the music at that time ... Allthough I think Freddie did once mention something about disliking U2 (or was it Roger or Brian?)

That's correct, Stefan. But Freddie has never said something about music styles, not artists, as I remember (and he didn't like when someone put music into different styles, by the way, that's why he didn't want "Barcelona" to be called as rock-opera or something like that) - though I can be wrong :) He said something about Sid, but not about whole punk - etc. etc. etc.

Well I have an interview with him talking about how punk music artists were against Queen, and he said 'they make us out to be the bad guys, but that might be good since we get the publicity and we're meant to be bad' or something like that. And he and Brian said punk is not music, it's a style/trend. I believe I got this from QZ.
Freddie also said "In the end, the talent remains" and he said punk artists are jealous.

Their political views, and the way Bono's face looks like he is smelling butt all the time.
Freddie didn't discuss anything political because he knew anyone would agree with him, just because he said it.
I can imagine that he would be just like Sir Elton these days.
I think he would be very confused.
What is today's trend?
Boybands? It wasn't his taste. (Not even in men.) Freddie would have stopped that fiasco with 5ive. (Terrible!)
HipHop? It isn't theaterical enough. And the melodies are also dull in most hiphop tunes.
Nu Metal? Well, I hope Freddie didn't like it!
Latin pop? Maybe.

I think he would have loved The Darkness - If he was still with us I think he might have done a cameo or joint venture. Its his style of humour as well as being fun music.
I know for sure he would think this Queen + "Anybody we can get" business was a disease which shouldn't be spread. And as for that GIMP Rodgers he would have flattened his face without a doubt.
Queen 1991 RIP
Anyone ever heard of Scissor Sisters???
I think he may like some of their stuff, its not the greatest stuff, but its good, and seems like something he would like. I enjoy it.
Perhaps Keane??
Other than that, i really dont know, i dont follow much current music. I dont like this "i dont wanna love ya i j/ wanna F*** ya" music...
o i forgot, the whole get my nine and shoot u stuff as well...
Maybe Alica Keys.
