ok as most of you know the shows in the big cities are selling well while the boondock shows are strugling.lets predict the first show to bite the dust because of "schedule conflicts"(no ticket sales).here is my guess.. ST PAUL top 5 reasons it will cancel 5-crowd though it was Mr Rogers from the tv show 4-avg ticket price more then per capita income of minnesota 3-big ice fishing tourney that night 2-folks mad that Queen "lip Syncs"middle part of BoRhap" amd the number one reason this show will sell less then 1000 seats and be cancelled is... locals protesting their outrage of the IWTBF video! |

I thought the tour was going to sell out? ;-) |

Great Positive attitude--and I take offense to the Boondock reference. |

On a serious note..... Pittsburgh: with Philly, Cleveland, and DC dates so close, as well as Detroit and Chicago, well.... Buffalo: they'll get those from Canada who want to see a show after the Toronto gig, and some from upper NY, but.... Jacksonville: unless IE rounds up a few thousand;-) St. Paul/ Minneapolis: Are you kidding? They've got the university, no other Q+PR's in the nearby area other than the long haul to the Windy City...this will go over big. Even Tom O has a handful of tickets, and is biting at the bit. Not trying to be negative, just offering a somewhat educated opinion. |

I doubt any shows will be cancelled. Obviously they are not going to sell out but they are not going to be cancelled. |

Compliance Queen wrote: Great Positive attitude--and I take offense to the Boondock reference.Agreed about the Boondock thing, QC, but he might be onto something with the conflicting ice fishing tourney ... ;) Where are people getting data on tickets sold/not sold? Is this factual data or speculation? And more importantly, how many can participate in the ice fishing tourney, and can one drive one's tricked-out fishwagon directly onto the ice and hope to not become amphibious, or worse? |
stateside fan 03.01.2006 12:36 |
the info is from ticketmaster--you can log on thru links at QOL and see what seats are available.Yes Pieter I hoped for all sell outs but i must say some of these cities will hurt our chances. |
PieterMC 03.01.2006 12:39 |
The tour was never going to sell out. The fact that they have not toured here in 23 years along with the fact that Freddie is not here anymore really hurts them. I still think that most venues will be 1/2 - 3/4 full. Jacksonville now has better seats available than it did 1 week ago. It's impossible to tell how many tickets have been sold by looking at ticketmaster. |

pieter-the artistarena seats that did not sell go into ticketmaster system after a certain time |

There's still plenty of time to get out the heavy promotion, there really hasn't been any to speak of just yet. If they even bother to get the word out, appear on some US TV programs, tickets will sell much better I think. |

i hear we may see somethings on yahoo this week that may be a bit surprising to see.... i havent yet seen them... but will give this source a chance... |
Deacons 1st Choice 03.01.2006 22:05 |
I think it's very possible that some shows will get canncelled..but not for "lack of interest", i.e.-not enought tickets sold. The REAL culprit will be THE WEATHER at this time of year. We are talking about shows happening in early March and in the Midwest and East Coast cities that can mean SNOW and lots of it. I would not be surprised if a couple of shows are in jeapordy becuase of bad weather conditions. Remember Brian's first solo tour here in 93'? Several shows were cancelled due to the snow storm we had and this happend right around the same dates: early March! I just hope it does'nt happen...but in my mind i'm keeping an eye on the situation as it gets closer to the shows. |

iron eagle wrote: i hear we may see somethings on yahoo this week that may be a bit surprising to see.... i havent yet seen them... but will give this source a chance...What do you mean?? Do you mean that you have heard that shows are going to be cancelled? or that John has got his ass out of retirement *lol*?? |
teleman 03.01.2006 23:28 |
I don't think you'll see any shows cancelled. It is still a couple months off and there has been little promotion. See what happens as March approaches. I don't know if the shows will sell out but I think enough tickets will be sold to make the tour a wothwhile venture. |
The Stealer 04.01.2006 09:51 |
I don't believe any the shows will be sell outs either--they are playing HUGE indoor venues..for some perspective I recently saw Aerosmith, and last year saw Van Halen at the BC in MKE- each show was about 1/2 sold--meaning 9000 folks versus 18000. For Aerosmith the weekend before the areosmith show ticketmaster had a 2 for 1 ticketsale. Folks had christmas prezzies to buy when these initally on sale..now perhaps they can focus on the tax refund crowd. |
PieterMC 04.01.2006 09:55 |
It may have been a better idea to play 1/2 venues instead of the entire arena. At least then it would not look so empty :-) |

Milwaukee, Chicago and St. Paul....are all within about 4 hours of each other. Chicago/Milwaukee....1.5 hours. Whoever booked this many shows this close together is a moron......as will be obvious shortly. |

Pittsburgh area radio stations are doing lots of ads, cd/dvd giveaways, etc. The show must go on! |
MercuryArts 11.01.2006 22:36 |
They have all those Saturday's off in the beginning of the tour. While they're in the mid-atlantic region they really need to do think high profile & try to land SNL. That would be a major boost in sales for the following shows in the mid-west & west. |
groover 14.01.2006 23:17 |
I can't imagine Queen's target audience watches SNL anymore. I grew up on SNL and havent bothered with that show in several years. |
~Blue_Acid~ 23.02.2006 14:04 |
actully there still is floor seating in Pittsburgh, but there is really nop promotion going ona roung here, the day before they tickets went on sale to the general public there was an Ad thats about it. |

I would rather have half an auditorium of rabid Queen fans than a full house of lukewarm ones. If we get a snowstorm March 26, we can always rev up our snowmobiles to get there. Zoom. Zoom. |
