QueenZone discussion #690390
QueenZone/new design??
| QueenNewcastle 01.01.2006 16:00 |
I was thinking, what do people think of QueenZone getting a new design for the new year? |
| The Deaky 01.01.2006 16:03 |
NO! |
| Freya is quietly judging you. 01.01.2006 16:23 |
No. |

We don't need a new design so much as something to fix all the little bugs that occur rather frequently. |

Some things are Classic, like Coca Cola. The formula works and is great so stick with a great thing. Keep QZ's design the way it is. |

I'd have thought that that was up to the site owner, who provides this excellent facility....for free..... |

Who will do the work of a redesign? It is easy to suggest a redesign when one does not have to do the work. What would be the real benefit of a redesign? A new look that everyone can disagree about? Bugs thats always occur when a new design is first implemented? If you want style over substance, then QOL is for you. |

NO WAY |
| John S Stuart 03.01.2006 06:12 |
It's bloody typical - isn't it? Only noobs who have been here for five minutes want a change. The rest of us who have been here for ever - have no say - so it seems. As RVW suggests, why is it these same noobs expect everyone else to do their work for them? If you want changes - invent your own. |
| brian-harold-may 26643 03.01.2006 06:23 |
i have only been here for about a month and i dont want change. happy new year BTW. |
| YourValentine 03.01.2006 08:28 |
For me this is the new design, it's only about 2 years old I think :) |
| icmrocha (The Man From Planet Marzipan) 03.01.2006 09:06 |
No, no new design, please! I think that the conversation is what matters here, right? =) |
| PieterMC 03.01.2006 09:08 |
I don't think it needs a new design. It just needs some new decent people to post instead of the constant mindnumbing crap that has been on here recently :-) |

It could be changed a little bit cos it's a bit basic like a few of you on here. We could have avatars and a bit more colour. |
| PieterMC 03.01.2006 12:58 |
Looks new to me: link and please, please, please no avatars |

F*ck avatars! Pics of band members are in picture gallery, our pics in our profiles, end of story. |
| Maz 03.01.2006 13:22 |
I still use the old board for most of my viewing. All that fancy color and quote blocks distract too much from the content. That and I'm a stubborn old mule. |
| Freddie Lives 4 U 03.01.2006 13:24 |
What's wrong with the site? Works fine for me. I could use a new computer, though... |
| shanemcd 03.01.2006 15:17 |
Current Design is OK. Perhaps a focus on system bugs (i.e Cookie problem), or even the inclusion of extra features, or a better links section (current one is a bit limited). |

<font color=pink>LilySavage wrote: It could be changed a little bit cos it's a bit basic like a few of you on here. We could have avatars and a bit more colour. The "basic" things always work best. I prefer a simple site than one with tons of useless stuff which slows down navigation and just complicates our lives... Yeah yeah I'm very basic. |

The site could do without a few bugs: -Slow forum update times -Links to nonexistent pages (such as page "6" on a 5-page thread) -Posts out of order, or new posts replacing old ones, also throwing out the order -Double posting -Search function often falters, particularly by member name -Marquees, colors, etc. in thread titles -Nameless threads -Links open in same window -Links in profiles often link to "link -Most pictures in profiles do not work (may be a user end problem?) I'm sure there's a few more, but that's what I've got from the top of my head. I'm not complaining, just pointing out in case anything can be done about it. I love it here. I loved the old boards. I'll still love it if it's totally revamped by tomorrow. |

Music Man wrote: -Links to nonexistent pages (such as page "6" on a 5-page thread)I could be wrong, but usually that happens when an account is deleted and so all the posts of that persons are deleted. However, the "post count" of the thread still counts them. -Marquees, colors, etc. in thread titles -Nameless threadsI think that's not a bug: it's all the thread opener's fault. |

You know what, I really wouldn't mind if there was a private message function on the boards, or if there were those IM screen name links in our profiles. Or at least a section for a screen name as to convince more members to share theirs in their profiles. |
