i have a question... why cant so many Queen fans accept that he was gay??? I just do understand... |
Serry... 02.01.2006 10:45 |
Because he was bisexual and because it doesn't mean that he slept with every male he had seen on his way including managers, band members, roadies, postmen etc. |
inmsthebest 02.01.2006 10:59 |
LOL, yep, I think even if he was gay and not bisexual, and even if he was such a promiscuous person, he didn't necessarily slept with bandmates(Rog, Bri, Deacy), cooker, driver, fans....hmmm some fans might have wished to sleep with him, pretty sure anyway;) |

An urban legend created by the band, was that Roger received half of the royalties for BoRhap because of the B-side. Well, Freddie actually wrote the lyrics, as a love song about his hidden feelings for Roger. |

I don't think he was in love with Roger. They were very close obviously but I wouldn't go so far as to say they were in love. Anyway, weren't Brian May and Tim Staffell living with them too? I suppose that means he was in love with them too at some point? |

Freddie and Roger were termed a couple of queerns in the early 70s. BUT, if you knew anything about the gay community, you'd understand the majority of the friends of gays, are also gay, or lesbian. It's true. Haven't you seen the photos in Peter Freestone's book? Most of the guys hanging with Freddie are gay. Roger isn't gay though. What Roger is, is a party animal. So Freddie and Roger shared similar interests. Remember them putting mirrors about the GIRLS dressing room so they could watch them undress? You are all acting like gay guys will fuck anything. Gay guys will not fuck anything, and don't have feelings over every man that walks by. You act as if gays can't have friends of the same sex... which is so stupid of you to say. |

But to be completely realistic...If you read Jim's book (Mercury and Me) There are parts that make you curious about them. Such as: "They were clearly soul mates..." and "They sat giggling together..." Perhaps in the early days Roger was experimental. Come on. Glam rock was that way. Think about David Bowie. He admitted to be Bi but then decided he was straight. But then again. It's possible they just got drunk once...stuff happened...and they never spoke of it again. But my personal opinion...they flirted...an awful lot. |

First of all: link that is part of the book "mercury and me", tia. Buy the book, I highly suggest it for a true fan. 2nd off: I have many many guy friends. They don't flirt with each other. I don't think it's something guys do. Unless they are kidding around. In private though? I don't think so. Unless there is a guy here that flirts with his mates...speak up. I could be wrong. But once again, I'm saying that this is only a "Theory" (lol...taken so seriously!) Who cares anyway. Roger surely wouldn't admit anything even if something did happen. You guys know how he hates the press. |

u kno its funny this was brought up cuz ive been a fan since 1992 and i used to have almost every documentary on Queen and i always kinda thought Freddie might of had a thing for Roger cuz Freddie always acted more flirtatous and giddy around Roger then wit any of the other guys and i noticed too when i watched some of my concert videos Freddie liked to go be near Roger i dunno u all think what u want but i think there might have been some attraction there , i mean y not cuz Freddie liked guys and Roger was very nice lookin so i wouldnt think it was impossible. |

I remember from what I read in the 70's era Queen articles and interviews in newspapers that Freddie and Roger were great buddies who both shared a love of partying and outrageous pranks. Roger historically has been portrayed as a wild womanizer. While it is certainly plausible that Roger and Freddie MIGHT have had some drunken orgy or sexual indiscretion together, the idea of them ever being lovers didn't circulate on the rock gossip world back then. From the very early years just about everyone realized Freddie was bisexual. In his youth I don't think he was picky about the gender of his sexual partners. Later, Freddie seemed to prefer men. This is very common behavior among people who are getting in touch with their sexuality....they don't always end up in the same place where they started. Personally, I always thought Freddie seemed to flirt with the BDSM lifestyle, but no one talks about that anymore. As for Jim Hutton...I have read his book and have some real problems with it. Hutton's statements are awfully self-serving and seem terribly disrespectful to Freddie's memory and to other people close to Freddie. Hutton wrote a book to cash in on his relationship (whatever it really was) with Freddie. Freddie isn't around to set the record straight. Mary Austen in rare interviews tends to paint a rather different scenario. The other members of Queen have aligned with Mary....this speaks to her credibility. |

We'll never know for sure, but the fact that Freddie left the same to Jim as to his other 'friends' says a lot, don't you think? If they indeed loved each other so much, as husbands, then surely Freddie would have left him a lot more cash AND stability. I mean, the way I see it, leaving Garden Lodge to Mary was the same as telling Jim to pack his bags. Personally, I think Freddie did love Jim, but I don't think he ever trusted him as fully as he trusted Mary. IMO - MARY was Freddie's soulmate. I read an interview - I wish I could remember where, maybe someone here knows - when Freddie said, "Yes it is very much a marriage. She (Mary) is the love of my life." Kinda says it all, yes? |

I wanted to feel closer to Freddie but instead felt like things were written there that shouldn't have been. I noticed very little sensitivity toward Freddie. We all know he wasn't an angel, but most of us will admit that with love. There seemed to be more animosity than admiration in Jim's tone - at least to me. Sorry... is this too off topic? |

But I think Jim truly loved him and was not there for the money. |
KillerQueen1429 04.01.2006 11:50 |
what does all this about Jim and Mary have to do wit the topic at hand?? But anyways as far as Jim goes its obvious Freddie loved him very much and Jim loved him very much....as far as the money thing Jim didnt care about that part of Freddies life and it wasnt about that wit him and Jim was also a very independant person so maybe Freddie didnt leave him much as a wish to him. Also if u read the book u also kno Jim gave Freddie a wedding ring that Freddie wouldnt take off even at the end and if u see the later pics of Freddie u can see it on his finger. As far as the Mary thing i think ppl r havin a hard time dealin wit the fact that Freddie prefered men and they wanna stick up for her but if u read some of Marys interviews they broke up becuz Freddie told her he was gay and as the years went on they remained close friends yes but at the end Freddie referred to Jim as his 'husband' and Freddie had also told Jim that he and Mary were seen together alot cuz of the media and he wanted to keep Jim out of the spotlight for his privacy and so he didnt get any backlash from people. But that about sums up my post whether u choose to accept it is up to u but most ppl read between the lines. |
