He probably would but it would also probably be political suicide. |

I think Freddie would have marrried Mary eventually. I feel she was the love of his life. |
gem27 01.01.2006 10:50 |
He was gay!!!! do some people still not get it! why would he marry Mary? He lived with her for some years back in the 70s then he became true to himself. What crap! |
Sharon G. 01.01.2006 10:59 |
Yes. and he also said he could give up this gay life anytime and he did state he would someday like a faimly. Well, we will never know, only speculate. |

I think Freddie would have married Jim but would keep it really "low key" |
unknown 01.01.2006 12:42 |
I read in articles, Freddie Mercury had had relationships both with men and women. |
it was electric7 01.01.2006 12:52 |
well Freddie was a private person, and I dont think he wouldnt be like "HELLO DARLINGS, IM GETTING MARRIED!!!!!" he would keep it secretive... i think? |
DreaminQueen 01.01.2006 14:15 |
I really dont know on this one. I think maybe later in life, and possibly to Jim, because who knows how his life would have gone had he never gotten AIDS. As far as private or flashy... That too is tough. |

Sharon, Freddie. Was. Gay. Living with a woman does not change that. Some gay people even have grandchildren - they're still gay. Sure, Freddie loved Mary. But love doesn't mean that they had constant sex. If they did, he was, more than likely, fantasizing about men. Want proof of his sexual orientation? Do some research using legit sources and not some website of an obsessed fangirl. |
darkblue 01.01.2006 16:04 |
It's hard to say but... when he lived with marry she was his wife I mean that he treated her and thought of her that way,he also said that marriage is for other people, but then again he wore a (wedding) ring from Jim.I am not sure he would have got married because I believe that freddie never told his parents openly about his sexuality, and that's why jim as long as freddie lived was known to them as his gardener..although I am not sure here |
kdj2hot 01.01.2006 16:33 |
If he were living and still with Jim hutton I think it would definitely be an option. |
deleted user 01.01.2006 17:22 |
i think that freddie would've probably married with jim ..mary could be an option and i can see why sharon g. is sayin that but i think he would've gone with jim... whether he was low key about it or not is the question? : / |

Remember people, that these are opinions... ...so attacking someone for having another opinion other than your own is just as ignorant as the views you deem as "stupid." With that said, I think you're all inferior. Good day. ;) Cheers |

Who knows. Freddie was known for his ambisexual proclivities even from the early years. Gays have always seen him as strictly gay while others tend to see him as Bi or gay. Does it really matter? I think we might draw some conclusion as to his loyalties when we consider the contents of his will. Mary received the House and half of his estate. The rest was divided into smaller bequests to friends and family. Jim Hutton was not the major beneficiary. |

If he'd been gay, he would never have slept with a woman again. And we know at least that he had sex with Barbara Valentin in the 80s. He was probably more attracted to man than to women, but for a time he probably banged anything he met. And we also don't really know all the things he did from 1977 to 1985. |

darkblue wrote: 'And we know at least that he had sex with Barbara Valentin in the 80s. ' really?? how do we know it?????Exactly, we don't. They very well may have just been platonic companions. And...even if Freddie and Barbra, or Mary did have sexual relations, just remember, Tom Cruise, Richard Gere, John Travolta, Rock Hudson, Michael Jackson, Tab Hunter, George Michael, David Bowie, Jann Wenner (publisher of Rolling Stone), Oscar Wilde, Julie Cypher, Anne Heche...all who at one time or another were married or in heterosexual relationships, even some had children.... ....(Just look at FREE's Andy Fraser..happily married with children, then tells his wife he realized he was GAY and left her). ...but..all have either openly or discreetly had gay relationships too, and with the exception of Anne Heche, John Travolta, or Tom Cruise none denied they were Bi/Gay or even said they were BI..all said they were out and proud GAY!!!!! |
mercuryqueen 02.01.2006 16:18 |
You know, people do marry other people all the time outside of love (who wants to marry a millionaire) Freddie loved Mary. THey didnt have to have sex, but they could have gotten married if they wanted. We know he is gay, but marriage isnt all about sex. So get over it and stop calling people idiots. |

EVERYBODY I THINK I CAN LAY THIS TO REST Freddie Mercury was BISEXUAL but even though he treated Mary Austin as his girlfriend, he preferred men. As much as I would LOVE to completely say he made it up and he pretended to be gay to get attention, I cant. I would love to say he never got HIV and that he's just on a Hawaiian island with Elvis and JFK. But I cant. Because it's the truth. He had homosexual tendancies that led to his early death. As terrible as that is, we have to accept it. |

Watch Freddie's loves. If there's a single book where they admit it happened, everyone of us on this forum will appreciate much that you share the title of the book with all of us.;) As for Barbara, she just said theirs was a platonic relationship since they both liked MEN: Platonic is platonic, darling.
