Actually, I have to say that MCR is far better than most of "this generation's bands." You live in a time where pop punk dominates the rock market, so if you consider MCR better than all the rest of pop punk bands, then they couldn't possibly be one of the generation's worst bands.
MCR also has more of a metal influence, and I would put them far above Fall Out Boy, Relient K, Blink 182, Taking Back Sunday, The All-American Rejects, Yellow Card, Coheed and Cambria, The Used, the Gorillaz, Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, Simple Plan, Linkin Park, Lifehouse, AFI, the Bloodhound Gang, Incubus, Cypress Hill, Mudvayne, Switchfoot, 3 Doors Down, Staind, Papa Roach, Sum 41, Something Corporate, Nickleback, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte, Anti-Flag, Less Than Jake, POD, Ben Folds Five, Bowling for Soup, Third Eye Blind, Maroon 5, Modest Mouse, Godsmack, Creed, the Ataris, MxPx, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc...besides those bands, I suppose that, yes, MCR is one of this generation's worst bands.

Used the words before I could think of them.
Great job dear.

One of the best groups out there these days if not the best, and that's saying a lot for me because I don't like ANY new music, but I seen and heard something a little different with MCR. Gerard Way (is that the lead singer's name?) there's a lot of emotion in his voice. I hope to hear more from this band because I think they have great potential. I have a lot of their music downloaded, and I can honestly say I'm not disappointed in much of anything.

He wears way too much make-up, though.

I saw them live in May. I didn't even know that they were going to open the show that I was attending. I wasn't too impressed with their live show, honestly, since it was just a lot of screeching and me being called a mother-effer the whole time.
But in the end I do like their album.

And better than Gorrila's and Modest Mouse?
Lay off the smack...
I suppose in my rush list off the top of my head, I may have included two or so bands that the issue may be debatable. Other than that, I think I did a pretty good job.
Yea it aint bad I spose.
Though Cypress Hill and The Bloodhound Gang dont really release much nodays, not really modern music. Cypress Hill split in the early 90's.
One of the best modern bands is Arcade Fire imo. There Debut album is awesome, best album of 2005 imo.

But when I saw that ad I remember thinking they sound good! They get good reviews (but then all bands get their good and bad reviews) and I've heard they're brilliant but I'm yet to buy any of their albums.
I want to do though. And the fact that people here say they suck makes me want to buy their album because usually I love the bands others hate! :P
that video was for the ghost of you. you can hear them at link
Okay, in my opinion, if you close your eyes (that bit is VERY important) and listen, I can see how some people really like them.
I, unfortunatly, am not one of them.
But I do admit that they are pretty good, and a hell of a lot better than a few bands floating out there.

Agreed. Kaiser Chiefs and Arcade Fire are the bands that have impressed me most lately.
