another was in southern america when Queen were touring. the people had a very strange way of appreciation for queen as not many popular bands went to this certain country. The audience threw bits of metal or battery-like objects on the stage...i dont know why! |

Well, what i remember was not at a concert, but do you remember when Roger's hair was kinda green?? Freddie got realy angry!!! |
rogertaylor88 30.12.2005 06:58 |
Freddie also forgot some words of Radio Ga Ga on a couple of gigs during the Magic Tour... |

On every live recording of "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" that I 've heard, Freddie sings "ram pam pam pam rampampam" instead of the real lyrics in some part of the first verse. Did he constantly forget the words or does he sing it intentionally? At the Birmingham gig in 1984, at the start of "Love of my life" he hands the microphone over to some guys in the audience who start to scream "love you Freddie!" and some F-words. Sounds like Freddie had some kind of struggle to get the mic back. I don't remember the exact date, but at the start of "Save me" (Brian on piano) Freddie and Brian don't start simultaneously and Freddie stops after "It started off so well ..." and says: "It didn't start off that well ... fuck off!" before starting again. By the way, the microphone problems were at Earls Court 1977. The piano mic was okay, but the other one didn't work properly for several songs. Why they didn't exchange it (maybe with John's?) is a miracle to me. Queen by that date should have had spare microphones and cables you should think. |

I seen a picture of freddie, injured with a few guys helping him get off stage. The pic was from 1980-1984 ish...im not too sure. What happened? |

How about the version of "Save Me" where, as Freddie says, it "Didnt start so f&cking well" link |

There are better pictures but this is the best one I've got seeing as Roger destroyed most of the pictures in embarressment. link |

What happened?Freddie fell on stage, halfway through a concert and hit an already injured leg, so he couldn't walk. But he didn't want to let his fans down :) so he decided to do a few songs where he could sit at the piano. Someone in the roadcrew explained to the audience what had happened and that Freddie still would do some songs. The crowd roared at Freddies courage and loyalty, and when Fred had done the songs he went to to the hospital to do x-rays. The leg wasn't so bad as they had thought. I read it in Peter Freestones book. |

At the end of one concert (which one?) Freddie's crown hits the floor and starts to roll off of the stage. Roger makes a minor attempt to chase it but gives up. Ever-practical John comes to the rescue! |

got it for xmas, only quarter way through. Im reading about Poor freddie's failing relationships...first one used him, second cheated on him and another was violent and angry...poor freddie really needed someone to truly love him for who he really was. I would of been willing lol! |

His hand was injured during that one. I never noticed, but maybe you can see it somewhere...? Didn't Roger preform a concert with his fly open?? Altough, that was with his solo-project or maybe it was his other band, I can't remember. Haha, I would have LOVED to be at that concert :) |

At the end of a concert, Roger stood up to hit all his cymbals, but the new roadie though " the stool is in the way" so he moved it. Roger went to sit down but fell over and heaved the kit across the stage nearly hitting Freddie. Now that must have been scary seeing a drum kit flying at you. |
YlvaDaJackass 30.12.2005 12:41 |
Haha, oh, yes I agree!! But why did he heav his kit over the stage? Was it just because he was pissed on that stupid roadie, or what?? |

yeah i think he was a bit pissed off.. |

The crown falling off the stage at the end is Budapest '86. Freddie put it on Roger and Rog kneeled down, but the crown fell off. It rolled off the stage and Roger tried to catch it, but missed. John got it a few moments later. |

I was fortunate to have been able to attend 4 different Queen concerts in tour years between 1977 - 1983. There were many outrageous live stage moments....Freddie had a rep for them. He truly was outrageous when onstage. Queen came to Oakland/San Francisco right after Freddie had "re-created" himself into the super macho Freddie....he had cut his hair very short and had grown the mustache. Gone were the glam outfits, replaced with very masculine leather/ Nazi stormtrooper/Biker attire. Well, the audience wasn't ready for the change apparently....certain fans yelled and one threw a razor up to the stage...it landed right at Freddie's feet. Freddie grabbed the razor and shouted into the microphone "Go shave your own hairy asshole!" Before lobbing it back into the audience. The crowd LOVED IT. Everyone was shocked, but laughed and the show continued. |

<font color=green>Rick wrote:Yes, you're right. You can see them sing into the same microphone, too (but still I couldn't hear John THAT clearly). But it could have helped to exchange the mics, though. I think Queen could rather go without John's singing.Nummer2 wrote: By the way, the microphone problems were at Earls Court 1977. A real shock to the american audience, I guess to see freddie's new look, maybe that made them lose fans. I wonder what the other band members thought about freddie's new look and if they ever dared to tell him. |

I read somewhere that during a concert, while sitting on the edge of the stage with the mic in his hand, Freddie loudly farted. The sound echoed throughout the stadium, and Freddie announced to the crowd,"I just had to let that one out, darlings". |

Poor roger! he's always falling off of his stool! Like in the 'tie your mother down' video. When the blast comes in on the first cymbal crash, it blew him off of his chair! If you look closely you can see it in the vid. after the smoke has cleared a bit there is no roger there! that made me chuckle, even though it probably hurt! Bless him :p |

I remember one story where they had a new roadie guy to look after the drums. I think this was during The Works tour. Anyway, before the first concert of that tour, Roger tunes his drums, like he always does. He likes his drum skins to be very tight, much more so than most drummers. After Roger has left, the roadie guy checks the drums, and somehow thinks that the drums aren't well tuned, and losens up the skins. During the concert Roger immediately notices that his drums don't sound right and is frantically retuning his drums in between the first songs of the concert. I assume the roadie received hell that night :) |
Fiendishly Yours 11.01.2006 15:47 |
Here's a quote from Crystal on that one: "...During sound checks Roger would spend forever tuning his kit, and during the show, with the heat of the lights and his pounding, would continue tuning during the show. On one occasion, sound check over and kit perfect, we head off until showtime. During the first number of the set RT is looking a bit put out, and after the first song starts frantically re-tuning the drums. This continues for quite a few songs until he starts to look relaxed. After the show Shag is summoned to the dressing room, and RT said, "Er Shag, after the soundcheck did you re-tune my kit? And the reply was, "Oh no Rog, I wouldn't do that, I just tightened up the loose ones." ..." |

at one concert in south america to show apprecitation they threw food and stuff on stage. as brian tried to dodge eggs being pelted at him, he slipped over. and i know it's not live, but when queen were doing the WWTLF video, roger said he was drunk. |
Joeker 13.01.2006 18:32 |
was freddie really pissed at brian for not going simultaneously or did he just yell for the fans? |
