I don't really know how rare this is. Probably not very, since you can buy it all over the internet. but I just wonder what it is, I don't have it, but I'm thinking of buying it, but I don't know what it is. I just thought since I want it all is on it, it can't be a concert-dvd. But I don't know. Can anyone help me? Thanks |

It's a concert DVD. I Want It All is just opening theme. link |

Oh, right... Thanks very much!!!!!!! Is it good?? |
Serry... 28.12.2005 06:25 |
No. But if you want to see a long teaser tape of what they have in Queen archive, but won't let you to see too - it's okay. Another link for you: link |

It's really not that bad a video to watch if you've recently gotten into Queen, and want to see little bits of how the band looked like in concerts... I didn't have any problems watching it occasionally in the nineties. On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend paying more than £5 for it. :P |

Never seen the point of Rare Live. Yes it's live but what's meant to be rare about it? With the exception of literally a couple of tunes, all the songs were widely performed by Queen and extremely popular live favourites. CLTCL, HTF, KQ etc etc. Plus there's some dodgy editing! Biggest heap of poo I ever purchased. Well, on a par with ROTC maybe.... no actually I don't think I'll go there!!!! :-) |

So it's not just ONE concert, but bits off different ones?? |

FUCKHEAD Besides, it's not even something QUEEN has done, it's something Queen Productions has done.Oh, god, here we go again with the "stepford fans" again. Let me spell it out to the so-called "stepfords": Queen is NOT perfect! We know it, and they definitely know it. Brian and Roger would be the first people to say that Queen is not the greatest band in the world, though they may act like it sometimes. I admit, Queen made a few mistakes over time. A lot of people have problems with albums such as Hot Space, The Works, or even the Flash Gordon soundtrack (btw i saw the movie last week, it's not THAT bad) But these "stepford fans" have to draw the line somewhere! Think of it this way: if Brian May were to work with Britney Spears and...oh, he did that already. Robbie Williams?...nope, did that too. Okay, I can't think of anything, but I'm sure that Brian, Roger, Freddie, and John have done something that fans did not approve of. Come on, I've seen The Stepford Wives, and it was freakin' me out, so no more, "stepford fans". Own up, and realize that Queen is not the almighty, perfect, untouchable band you think it is. It's a damn good band, though, but they have made mistakes before; it's nothing new. |

This video is a typical cut and paste job from DoRo - bits and pieces from already published shows (from different parts of the world) - continuity a major problem - set-list a complete bore - for Greatest Hits fans only Nothing revealing, nothing new Big disappointment |

What is truly a shame is that Queen could make a great dvd with all the footage they have.If you think about it:there are lots and lots of shows that have been filmed. I'm sure there's also some great footage we don't know the existence from.To see that released would be awesome!! I prefer getting full shows first though and then they can release a box or something with all the rare stuff and with lots and lots of footage:-) The idea of a rare live dvd is great but what they made was absolutely a disgrace!! The led zeppelin Dvd:that's the way to do it(if you want to do such a thing) |

We liked the full Wembley '86 concert, and most of us enjoyed Milton Keynes '82, and the bonuses were great (highlights from other shows, rehearsals, photos, interviews, etc.) They should have done something like that with ROTC. I mean, Imagine is not enough in my opinion... |

They're not obligated to give us anything. God knows they have already released a pretty sizeable catalogue, not even counting any further releases. I'm just thankful they released the ROTC show on DVD. After all, the music is what turned me on to Queen in 1991, not interviews, photos, etc.on my way up wrote: I prefer getting full shows first though and then they can release a box or something with all the rare stuff and with lots and lots of footage:-)That's probably the way to go with these things. Except Budapest and Rock in Rio, none of the shows on Rare Live (not even Wembley !!!) had been officially available when the video was released back in 1989. I own the video since 1993 and it contains some very good snippets from shows all around the world. The only thing one could complain about, is the editing. It would have been better to start with the early shows and then go up to 1986. Anyway "Rare Live" is much better than the "Queen Rocks"-crap from 1997. |

Hmmm... One guy says "except for two, none had been previously released". Well, true, although it begs the question why were the two still included, and why the hell was a promo video included? Plus we had by then seen a great deal of footage on the earlier "Magic Years" compilation. Someone else says "hey it wasn't so bad, except the editing" Which is also true, as long as the captioning is included in the definition of "editing". My own view is that this was the quintessential example of a pretty good idea horribly executed. Had it been an hour (ideally 90 mins) of previously unseen footage, with brief captions that were a) accurate & b) not enclosing the whole picture, and if they had limited themselves to one location per performance, it would have been reasonably pleasant to watch. I might also have preffered to have the tracks chosen be chronological, but accept that this at least is a debatable point. Rather arrogantly, I believe the previous paragraph to be bordering on the unarguable. |
