Ok, i have always known that freddie was quite the 'diva', but im halfway through reading Laura Jackson's 'Queen' and throughout the first couple of chapters, especially those around 'ANATO' and 'ADATR' he was quite an tyrant, moaning whenever he didnt get his own way (eg long black limousines were'nt available so he had a tantrum and refused to get in etc..., smashing the mirror over the assistants head etc etc). Is this simply Jackson exaggerating it or was he really like this in the beginning. Although, as the book clearly gets across, the band we're under enormous pressure in the beginning...and this might have been the cause of Mercury's violent personality...please give me ur views-
My take on it is that, when I've thought about this and while I accept Freddie probably had quite a temper and was certainly no angel, the fact the band stayed together so long and remained friends until the end of Freddie's life shows he wasn't completely unreasonable.
his increase in using cocaine in the seventies caused him to have more of a short temper ...
Its one of the "side effects" I gues ...
just my humble opinion ...

OF COURSE, I AGREE WITH YOU HE IS ONLY HUMAN EVEN IF HE'S A SEX MACHINE, OR LIKES STRIPPERS HE IS A MAN!!!
Well, someone with a busy and hectic lifestyle like himself would, on occasions, be snappy but wouldnt anybody in his situation??
Freddie was usually very kind and generous and loved to live life to the full with as much fun as possible.
The only reason he may of got snappy was because he was a very precise person...

At least he didn't kill himself.
lolz@Kurt Cobain!!1!!111
Neither did Kurt. Courtney that sick bitch had him killed. As for Freddie, yes, he was a bitch from everything I've read, but he was also extremely generous and loving to those who came to understand his extreme personality. He had a lot of abandonment issues from having been sent off to boarding school for most of his childhood, so he probably tested people's loyalty regularly by being a shit.

I still love him.
Me too.
</useless post not giving any information>
:P
I heard about the mirror incident in a John Deacon interview.
But when you remember that Roger locked himself in a cabinet, threw his drumset at Freddie, and sprayed Brian in the face with his hairspray you have to realize it was like a diva competition there. lol
Probably didn't help that they shared a flat for a while...
yeah course he was, he killed the original queen band members under the name larry lurex with the candle stick in his living room, and the person he writen death on two legs about died 2 weeks after he entered freddies tomb. or i read it somewhere, could of been on an article about ANATO in a jeremy parsons interview or a dream
i read that he got really nasty when he was doing alot of coke etc...I don't want to believe that he was mean, but he is a human being, and we all have flaws i guess.
