This is the complete Hammersmith Xmas 1975 show in *.FLAC. I downloaded the show in the Queen HUB from djaef, so a big thank you to him! The sound quality is excellent. Although it's complete, there are some noises which don't belong there IMHO (i.e. Ogre Battle @ 0:34).
djaef wrote in the setlist file:Comment: This is a COMPLETE recording of this legendary and brilliant Queen performance from Christmas Eve 1975. It has been compiled from several sources, with the bulk of it coming from the Swedish p3 broadcast (originally seeded on DimeADozen by humanoidboo). The sound is Excellent. "See What A Fool I've Been" and "God Save The Queen" are from a subsequent BBC FM re-broadcast (originally seeded on DimeADozen by EskimO), while I have ripped the "Rock 'n'Roll Medley" from the dvd. These tracks were then volume adjusted to match as close as possible the Swedish P3 broadcast.. Thre are a couple of edits and slightly quick fade ins and outs that were neccesitated by the removal of the Swedish radio team's comments over the top of the concert, but there is NO music cut, and overall, it's an excellent version of this wonderful gig. It could very well be that a better version will come along this year, courtesy of Queen Productions. :)24.12.1975 - Queen at Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK 01. Now I'm Here 02. Ogre Battle 03. <font color=FF0099>Linda Of The Valley wrote: thank you very much but just a few questions on flac: -how do you playback a FLAC file? -when burnt onto a cd, NONE of my hi-fi's/cd players etc. play it! So is there any point in me having this if nothing will play it? sorry if these seem really stupid questions, but I recently downloaded a flac concert (not queen) and I birnt it onto a cd but nothing woud play it so... Thanks a million for this though!1. You need a codec installed to play FLAC files, a good plugin can be found for Windows Media Player at: wmplugins.com 2. If you have a program like Nero, you can download a FLAC plugin for that as well here: link Then just select the FLAC files you want to add and burn them. :-) |
bitesthedust 01.01.2006 13:23 |
Linda, that will enable Nero to recognise the files when you add them to the burn list... so therefore it should then burn the cd with FLAC files on perfectly! If you need anymore help, let me know sweetie :)xx |
bitesthedust 01.01.2006 13:31 |
hmm... have you tried playing the cds on the pc? through winamp, for example? |
Nummer2 01.01.2006 15:22 |
Thank you very much for this! The quality now really suits the great performance. |
bitesthedust 01.01.2006 17:02 |
yes Linda, it works fine.... drop me an email and we'll sort it out for you :) |

<font color=FF0099>Linda Of The Valley wrote: yeah but... whats the point in getting that? I can already burn FLAC onto cds...it's just nothing plays the files...Hi Linda and happy New Year, FLAC is fairly new to me so I've been doing a lot of research on it. Thus far I've learned that FLAC is the most widely used and supported lossless format and is an efficient way to back up CDs on a hard drive to eliminate shelf space for your CDs. Basically people are ripping their CDs onto their hard drives along with art work and playing them back on a players that can be hooked up to their stereo systems. It seems like the most popular that I've come across is Squeezebox. Here is a link to read up on this product.link. I recently put up a brief post about an IPOD type of player that I purchased that supports FLAC, its called Iaudio and it's made by Cowon. Here's the site if your interested: link. My player holds 20 gigs of music and sounds terrific. MP3 doesn't bother me too much at high bit rates, but when it comes to listening to audience recordings, I have to use FLAC. |
