Is there a meaning to this song? Personally it sounds like Freddie shouting at the microphone "Look at me, Im King Shit"
Was this intended as a sport theme? Or possibly rejected for a movie?
Oh my God!!! I've never even HEARD of a Queen fan who hasn't seen Highlander! That movie is how I became a Queen fan! Queen Of Wrestling - you are hereby ordered to go and purchase Highlander, and most definitely spring for the director's cut (aka the 10th anniversary edition), which is how the movie was meant to be seen - in North America, they hacked the shit out of it and it didn't make any sense. A whole new chapter in your life is about to begin.
Ok as far as I know it goes like this...
there are a bunch of immortals called 'Highlanders' and the misson of all these
Immortals is to kill each other, but the only way for them to kill a fellow immortal is to decapatate them (thus 'Dont Lose Your Head') and once all the immortals are killed and there is one left the immortal gets a prize (Thus 'Gimme The Prize') Its a really good movie there are loads of Queen songs in it, 'Princes Of The Universe', 'Who Wants To Live Forever', 'Hammer To Fall', 'One Year Of Love' and loads more!
GET IT!
Thanks.

Clancy Brown would be spinning in his grave if he were dead! It's "It's better to burn out than to fade away!", and it's actually a line from a Neil Young song that perhaps appealed to Kurgan's softer side - you know he liked to listen to tunes while driving and when he wasn't chopping off heads or eating 'Candy'.
mmmmm...nice link Serry...just ogled that pic of Beaty Ednie, who played Heather...what a babelicious babe she was. Saw her on TV a few years ago..she'd gotten old and chubby...pity.

yeah they claim kurt cobain made it up....he stole it from neil young
True, Kurt didn't make it up; he probably did get it from Neil Young, but also you forget that Def Leppard used that line at the beginning of "Rock Of Ages", off their megahit album Pyromania.
So let's see...Cobain used it, but Young used it first. Def Leppard also used it, and was also said by Kurrgan in Highlander...ah, it's annoying the crap out of me!
I don't care where it came from; all that really matters is that it is a very cool line in either song or movie, bar none.
As a gum chompping "lady of the evening" opens Kurgan's down scale NYC hotel room:
"Hi,...(chomp, chomp)...I'm Candy."
Kurgun Says:
"Of course you are...".
