Suigi 21.12.2005 12:25 |
Keep Passing the Open Windows. For the longest time, that was the song that spoilt The Works for me. Then I heard the earky demo of Freddie tinkling away at the piano, and it seemed to come around. |

Seaside rendezvous, I didn't like hat one either, but now it's one of my favourites. In the lap of the Gods (NOT revisited) I kinda hated in the beginning, but now I don't. I love it :) |

There have been a few, but two have great irony with each of them. Staying Power: I still think is easily the worst album track ever for Queen. The irony is that, not only is the Milton Keynes live version great, but the main anticipation I had with release of 'On Fire at the Bowl' was that I would have a cleaned up version of Staying Power live. Fairy Feller's Master Stroke: I always loved this song. However, not that I pay much attention to lyrics, I always thought the lyrics pointless and silly, almost embarrasing. The irony? Once I found out the lyrics were about a painting by some crazy guy, and saw the painting, I did a 180 and now the lyrics are amazing to me. The only song I really didn't like then and love now despite no change is 'Keep Passing the Open Windows'. I once, years ago, asked my step-brother if it's possible to like every song a band puts out, as I do Queen. He said I was in denial, too worshipping them to an unrealistic degree. The comment stung, making me fell like a dork, so I defended myself by pointing out that track as one song I know I don't like. The irony? Years later, I even like that one. The one song I still don't care much for, to this day, is 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk'. Oh well, it's tolerable, and not that bad. If that's the worst they can do, WOW! P.S. There is one Queen related song in the world that I have no problem saying that it sucks to high heaven. 'No Turning Back' by John Deacon and the Immortals. I would rather Deacon have nothing at all solo, than to only have that one total piece of shit. Bands I really hate don't even usually do anything that shitty. |

Yeah, Jesus, I suppose. And Good-Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Play The Game, I'm In Love With My Car, The Show Must Go On, Breakthru, Headlong...There are probably loads more I just can't think of right now. Although technically, all of them, because when I was really young, like, 3, my mum sometimes played Queen in the car and I just wanted nursery rhymes and crap. Well, not any more. |
PinkInk 21.12.2005 15:43 |

I absolutely *hated* "Action This Day" the first time I heard it. I even *laughed* at it. But I like it much better on the Queen on Fire - Live at the Bowl DVD. The visual helps. And the sound of the instrumental interlude is at least tolerable. I'm still not even close to loving it, but that performance helped somewhat, I have to say that much. |

Keep Yourself Alive, The Night Comes Down, TATDOOL, TSMGO, and, er, that's it. I used to be really obsessed with AOBTD, Fat Bottomed Girls and Bicycle Race, but now I can't stand them. :P |
