I'm looking for the freddie box set, but amazon has it's price at a crazy 230 dollars. Does anyone have know the cheapest way to get my hands on this gem, I'm thinking ebay. Any suggestions?
They do appear on eBay, but the last two I have seen have gone for over £80 (these were new). You do have to be careful not to get bootleg versions, which are also circulating.
It's hard to find it in NTSC. If the price is too good, it's probably PAL, so then, the DVD can only be played on European machines. You're in the states, yes? I found mine on ebay and the bidding went well over $200.00 In NTSC, it's a very rare item. Good luck!
You also can buy the europe version and break the code from your dvd player....On the internet you download a program called region free killer (but this is for your pc dvd player only)
Do the United States not have region free machines (or code-breakable machines)?
Given that DVD players here are so cheap (in the UK), i'd have thought that the situation would be the same in the States....?

They can be purchased in the U.S. but not completely legally and not from a manufacturer. You have to buy one that someone's previously bought and fiddled around with its guts. Which I assume is the kind of "situation" you're referring to when you mentioned cheap DVD players.
jajajajajajajaa
you wont believe this, but last year, i bought it for U$S 70
and it wasnt an used one
i've bought it at link (it's like ebay, but from argentina)

It's a bootleg from The Works tour. Listenable quality, from what I have heard, and interestingly, this seems to contain Session 6 (1977) from the BBC sessions, as 'bonus' tracks, albeit with background audience noise.
