During Queens 20 reign as the most dominant british band since the beatles, they style of music changed accordingly with the decade.
Here are the eras of queen;
1973-1980:Typical british glam rock.
1980-1988:British pop music which WASNT chessy.
1988-1991:respectable British rock band.
1992-present:Queen remakes are SH*T,WWRY musical still going since 2002 and Brian May + Roger Taylor still KICK ASS!
Having been around for all era's, I have to say that my favorite is 73-80. That being said, I love watching them evolve, even to this day. It's been quite a ride.

My favourite is the 90s. I just can't get over the fact that Freddie could work like that. So hard and bravely. I don't want to go out if I just havea cold but AIDs, and still well it's amazing. I love the 80s era as well. His voice is brilliant and so is all their music. The 70s is great to. But overall the 90s is my fave.
1973-1980 was great because of enthusiasm they put in it...
They came up all sorts of things, it was very experimental.
1980-86 was not too great in my opinion. Though there were great hits like WWTLF, AOBTD, AKOM, etc...
There were some very bad numbers like Back Chat, Body Language... it was simply not their style...
after 86 Freddie put a completely new touch & made extremely numbers till his demise.
You could see the perfection on Innuendo & The Miracle.
Early 70s is my favourite Queen period. IMHO their music was at it's best at that time. I guess my favourite Queen period was 73-76 but to be honest i love all of Queens music, so give me Queen from any period and i'd love them.
Adore all "eras" but I'm mostly seduced by 70s Rock style, Freddie's composing was just superb. ;)
Only that I didn't like too much their heterogeneous dressing style, not uniform or standardized at all, but LOL, that kept on in the eighties(maybe in the final years they were more in consonance with each other:))

Typical british glam rock? You mean like Gary Glitter or T Rex? Not a chance. They may have dressed the part, but there is much more depth to their music at this time to dismiss it as typical glam.
I liked 1988-1991. Queen were making great albums again and finally starting to get the critical recognition they deserved. They were also a lot more sober too.
First, out of your breakdown.
My favorite era by my own breakdown would be the:
Pure Queen era: Queen I - A Night at the Opera, distinguished by me for -
a) Roy Thomas Baker albums(minus Jazz)
b) Brian May's early Ringmaster Treble booster
c) Queen doing their original style, particularly the first two albums, before they started to expand into more commercial endeavours, which started with Sheer Heart Attack.

Brian's early treble booster was only in Queen and Queen II, in Sheer Heart Attack he had another one.
I LOVE Brians hair in CLTCL so I guess end of the seventies is my favourite when it comes to Bri.
Roger is as hot now as he was 30 years ago, so all the time.
I liked Deaky in the Breakthru-video, so around late 80:s with Deaky. He looks like a geak.
Freddie was gorgeaus in the Breakthru-video, but I love and worship him all the time

Yes, same here, I've been a fan since Bo Rhap was released in the US but I have my favorite era broken down into the band as a whole and Freddie's vocals:
As a band I love their live shows from 75 to 82.
Freddie's vocal from 80 to 84. I wasn't too high on his voice during the Magic Tour except for the Budapest show.
