Hello there, fellow Freddie fanatics and Mercury maniacs!
I need your comments and views on 'Queen: On fire! Live at the bowl 1982'
Is it any good?
How is it compared to Wembly 86'?
I heard its "hampered by a few too many unremarkable album tracks from their most recent releases -- particularly Hot Space, the record they were pushing on this summer tour"
Thank you in advance for any remarks! :D

I assume that making up your own mind is out of the question?
Ok I guess, but find the Magic tour shows better, probably cause I ain't too keen on the Hot Space tracks, plus since it wasn't meant to be released 'properly' the whole cut of the show doesn't look too good compared to Wembley 86 (or Even Nepastadion 86)
also, Galashiels, nice to see a fellow Gala boy on the board.
i love this show because Freddie is agile and in top vocal form.i always look for the bandage on his hand the Hutton says he had on after his lover bit him(lol) but never see it.also it the last of the old Freddie look we would see.Rock in Rio was horrible and Magic tour shows were not his best either.
I do love Live at the Bowl, its really brilliant as Queen always are, but Wembley has got to be better. Wembley can make me cry and laugh and everything, each time I see it. Live at the Bowl doesn't have quite the same power in it.
love emma xx
At Wembley, Freddie looks like he is enjoying being on stage, lots of smiles, but his voice sounds a bit husky to me. Did this come at the end of the Magic tour - is that why?
Queen On Fire isn't the best filmed concert, but what it lacks in visuals, it certainly makes up in sound. I think the sound is spectacular throughout. Somebody To Love is the best version I have ever heard. Oh, Freddie, that beatiful white skin, that pencil-slender body, that stunning perfect posture, those beautiful jackets with the long fringes by his hips, the strutting, and those darling little skippy skippy skippy dance steps as he flows across the stage. He is so beautiful! Whenever I am having a down day, all I can think of is, "I've got to go home and watch Freddie." Queen On Fire. By the third song, each time, I am entranced.
Better than Wembley IMHO. Freddie's voice is better, and it has quite a few actual Queen songs from the '70s rather than being replaced by '50s songs on Wembley. The Hot Space tracks sound great live. Seems like more of a rock concert to me, while Wembley seems more like a pop concert because it has more '80s stuff.
I love Freddie's energy on WWRY (fast version) :)
I Think that Queen changed after the hot space tour. At the Bowl shows a roch group with everybody in top shape, though brian and john make a few mistakes. They were crunchy, full of energy and an it was an amazing setlist. With the addition of the Works and Magic songs the concerts became more poppy, more a show to entertain people. Not bad, but different. Freddie's voice, Rogers kitt and Brian's guitarsound were better in '82, but '86 had better lights and that great show feeling with Radio Gaga, We will rock you and We are the Champions.
I'd say that
1. On fire at the Bowl
2. Live at Wembley
3. We will rock you ('81)
is my preference.
I saw a dodgy video of Queen at Hammersmith '79 and that is one that should be released. That opening of Don't Stop Me Now.... Also Hammmersmith '75 and Rainbow '74 are also excellent concerts.
Buy them all!

Webley 86' I think is way better, its so funny when Freddie swears, but Live at Bowl is alright it is funny when Brian punches Freddies hat, also when Play The Game comes on, Freddie go's all crazyyyy!
Live At The Bowl is much more raw. I prefer it. The drum sound is infinatly better.
It also has the best versions of Tie Your Mother Down, Sheer Heart Attack and Fat Bottomed Girls I've ever heard.
And Action This Day and Staying Power sound 1000 times better LIVE!
penetration, i guess your right i just needed to know if it was worth buying..but how silly of me, most Queen stuff is defiantly worth buying!! ...every1 has their opinions on this as u can see. Thanks for ur views, guys..and gals!
Did you know when at Wembly 86' Queen just couldn't go to the highest, vocally especially during Bohemian Rhapsody...were they the same at the bowl? I guess they were abit less "rusty" in 1982...
In 86' they were getting on abit (but you would never guess!) and they couldnt do what they did in the early to mid 70's..
