Because it was nice that Freddie and the gang liked some Zep tunes enough to cover them (Immigrant song). Was the feeling mutual? What did Plant, Page and the gang think of Queen overall at the time? What do they think of them now? What did Freddie and the gang think of Zep overall at the time? What do they think of them now? |

Well, Queen was certainly influenced by Led Zep in the early years, as it can be heard in Queen and Queen II (heavy guitars, fantasy inclined lyrics). There's also a story of pre-fame Freddie making up he had met Plant. While I don't think Led Zep ever covered Queen, Robert Plant did appear at the FMT to sing Innuendo (with great difficulty)and CLTCL (much better). Also, Paul Rodgers was in a band with Jimmy Page, The Firm. |

Not to my knowledge, however Roger did join Plants band for a short spell in the 80's the intention was from him to tour with them, however I think they fell out during rehearsals. I remember reading an interview in which the reviewer went to see them rehearsing and was blown away by the size of Roger's Chrome kit as used in Live Aid. |

Hey, if people ask where to find such things because soo many people on here have such wisdom on these things, so i think the laziness thing here can be thrown out sometimes... Anywho, wow, the greatest band covering one of the other greatest bands in the world's songs, and i ADORRRRED the IMMIGRANT SONG!! |
DreaminQueen 17.12.2005 14:02 |
Really? Thats another great one. I dont know much about IBEX and the pre-queen sort of bands, im too young :-( And its practically impossible to get a hold of The Cross and any of Brian and Roger's solo stuff as well in America. So anyone know where i could find any??? Ive search like a madwoman, and cannot find it, except online, but sometimes shippping can get a bit steep. |

Yea ok, some people are a bit lazy i suppose... But sometimes when a question is asked, its better to just answer it, unless its something thats brought up daily or whatever than start a fight sometimes. Well u cant compare Roger to Rob Plant. Im sure it was good, but u cant ever beat the ORIGINAL! however, i would like to see/hear the queen/brian/roger etc cover versions sometime! |

To go back to the original question on page 1: What did Zep think of Queen back then and what do they think about Queen nowadays? I have become a fan of Zep rather recently and it's quite an interesting question! Are there many more Queen fans around here that are also Led Zeppelin fans?? |

Another thing: I have read that Robert Plant doesn't like "Innuendo" (the song), because he thinks it's too much like "Kashmir". But I did find a mp3-file in which Robert sings "Innuendo". But on the Freddie Tribute-DVD Robert only sings "Crazy little thing". Why is cut from the DVD?? |

Why is cut from the DVD??Because it utterly and totally sucks, that's why. And this isn't Rober Plant bashing, or from a Led Zep hater. It really does suck. Really the whole FM tribute just showed how brilliant a singer FM really was, and how everyone else is just a pale comparison. Well, except Paul Rodgers, of course :) And George Michael. |

Itd be a cool tour having Robert Plant/Jimmy Page Team up with Roger and Brian! Thatd be cool. But they should leave signing the queen songs to roger and brian, but bring paul rodgers along to sing as well, he does a good job. Cuz i Robert Plants voice is too different for a queen ditty. |
