Don't ever use that insult with me. I know many people who have mental retardation, and they are hard-working people. You have NO right to use "retarded" as an insult, and by doing so you are only proving your utmost immaturity. For the record, no, I don't, and I have no clue how one could tell something for someone's photograph from four years ago, anyway (the picture is from when I was fourteen, back when I had black hair as opposed to blonde.) |

Like honestly, HOW many people do we know that obsess over all these dead "celebrities" (as she puts it), or twats as I call them, to the point that some of us would even go as far as to assume that her obsession is far worse than we can imagine?? And also, when it comes to "politics", she's 'all talk and no listen'...and not to mention as well, avoids answering some of our questions about Bush, his religion and its teachings, etc....and also fails to back up her evidence a lot of times, even when I myself ask at times (sometimes though it takes two or three tries before she posts anything) As for how I am...I could be better. Well jasen101, I could forgive your insults to the mentally ill if you were, say, 10 years old?? But your profile says you're 25!! Seriously, Are you lying about your age? Each and every person on this board is entitled to their opinions and the ability to voice them on here. Everyone else is entitled to voice their opinions in response to those opinions but I personally don't think name calling and insults should happen. It really doesn't solve anything or add to any meaningful discussions. I like everyone on here. I may not like what they have to say or I may hold a different opinion, but I'm surely not going to call them retarded or idiotic for what they say or what beliefs they have. I may think what they say is idiotic, but I'm not going to say it, it's hurtful and serves no purpose. |

Well Jasen, there's something you need to understand. There are certain subjects about which we shouldn't make jokes. Mental illnesses is one of those. The right to be witty and have a laugh has certain limits, even on the internet. I know black humor. It can also be funny, I agree. But again, within certain limits. You need to learn that you may hurt someone's sensitivity with your words. Especially if someone really had a mental illness, or had a relative who does, how would they feel about your post? I hear it over and over: "Come on this is just the internet!" I really can't understand what it means. The only difference between the internet and real life is that you can hide behind a screen. But this doesn't give you the right to be rude. I bet you're a very correct person in rreal life...Be the same on the web. This is not just addressed to you, but to the many people who post similar crap. Fairy (talking like an old aunt! LOL) |

I also totally disagree that the Liberals are better educated, and much less that they do more for charity. It's just that they don't miss any occasion to shout to the world whenever they give a penny or devote 2 minuts of their time to others. This is something the so-called Conservatives prefer to do in silence (take Freddie who gave incredible sums of money to everyone without shouting it to the world, in contrast to Bono who keeps accusing the West and demanding cancelation of public debt of 3rd world countries while he has wealth none of us can even see in our dreams). This to me is being hypocrit, period. And btw, while earlier the Conservatives sure wanted to keep things as they were and the Liberals wanted change, I find now it is often the opposite. There is good and bad on each side. There are selfish and selfless people on both sides also. But I just find that the Lefties can just shout naggingly about everything, and scorn anyone who has a different opinion. I was very Liberal before. I still am in my views, but I became a supporter of the Center-Right in Italy just because of this hypocrit attitude I see in the Left. At least, here in Italy this is the case. I'm really tired of being labeled selfless and ignorant by the Lefties. |

And that is simply bragging about everything, shouting at those who think diferently, organize useless strikes and despise the wealthy when they are rich themselves... I would be a Liberal at heart, but in my country I really can't vote for them, because of their behavior, and also because they are so stubborn that not even once have they said they agreed with the present Government. They behave more like children to me than like mature politicians who know when to be the opposition and when to support the right causes. I have a feeling that this is also the case in other countries. Saying you're Liberal is fashionable. But in some countries like Italy, in some circumstances the Left is the Conservative wing, and the Right wants change. Terminology doesn't always help as it's just labels which don't necessarily reflect reality. |

Do the ends justify the means? To me, both sides present equally compelling cases - so much so, that I cannot attest that either side should be of inferior intellect. One must realize that these two groups are just different, nothing more or less, and that we should accept both views as valid. I cannot see how anyone could take one side and view it as absolute. Everything is scarce, we cannot ever gain without first giving up. Should our gain be worth the cost? Heh, reminds me of marginal revenues and marginal costs. We should do everything in our power to equalize them. |

That's all I have to say, LindaThe fact is, I have handled my fair share of good responses, from ThomasQuinn and many others. I have put forth numerous responses that have yet to be answered, but it seems that many people would prefer one of these "slagging" contests, so I have so aptly supplied one. Perhaps it was out of line, and I apologize for that. Not to mention that "...cos Caspar will win that one." is merely your impotent attempt to promote this "slagging" contest which you apparently so adamantly oppose. But to be honest, I have seen very little good responses on both sides of the debate. There really isn't anything to rebut, so that only leaves room for this "slagging." But if you still require a response, the lack of world peace is hardly due to President Bush. Do Bush's actions support world peace? No, but if he a) were not to exist or b) were to do everything within his power to promote world peace, ThomasQuinn would still have to settle for something else for Christmas. Honestly, a child could see that all you are doing is trying to find a scapegoat, and you found it in Bush. Great, Bush sucks, I somewhat agree, but please forego all your bullshit reasons for saying so. Let me conclude by saying if there is any cause to complain about a lack of intelligent responses, it will have nothing to do with me, Linda. I understand you are merely supporting your friend, but even you could see logic when impressed before your eyes. |
