Does anyone know what Freddie is saying in the chorus (right before 'I don't have no time for no monkey business')?
It sounds like 'Ee-do-day' 'Ee-do-day'
Or is it just sounds-I notice that half way through the song he begins a session of interesting vocalizations. I love this song, and I've wondered about this.
Could it be similar to his clip in the Tribute Concert where he is on stage alone singing these sounds ('Eh-do,ee-do').

Yea thats what i think it is too.
Its a fun song, i love it. Especially the monkey business part, thats something everyone in my house has said as long as i could remember, and its also the only song ive ever heard it in.

Ookay.
I like Living On My Own, as well.
It just seems like a contradiction that he's enjoying singing about being alone and depressed.
But then again, the video is pretty good.

Actually, it is VERY far from being a fun song. It is about loneliness and depression - which is about as far from fun as one can get!
Yea but isnt it saying he doesnt have time for no monkey business, meaning that he doesnt have time to deal with a relationship? And being independent??
i can see where its depressing, but there are fun aspects of the song, such as the beat and the de-doh-de-de... part. But yea, my bad, you're right, lyrically, its sad.
Perhaps thats worded a little bit better.
Evening everybody,
I don't think it is necessarily about sadness and lonliness as such. I remember reading a Freddie interview where he said he's talking about a lonely life (in Lving on my Own) but he's having fun doing it!
BTW I love the song, brilliant!!!

You have No IDEA what sweet Freddie was thinking in that song, dear;)
Dee do de do day
Dee do de do de do do de do doh
Sometimes I feel I'm gonna break down and cry (so lonely)
Nowhere to go, nothing to do with my time
I get lonely
So lonely
Living on my own
Sometimes I feel I'm always walking too fast (so lonely)
And everything is coming down on me, down on me
I go crazy
Oh so crazy
Living on my own (living on my own)
Dee do day day
Dee do day day
I don't have no time for no monkey business
Dee do day day
Dee do day day
I get so lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely yeah
Got to be some good times ahead
Sometimes I feel nobody gives me no warning
Find my head is always up in the clouds
In a dreamworld
It's not easy
Living on my own, my own, my own
Dee do day day, lonely
Dee do day day, lonely
I don't have no time for no monkey business
Dee do day day
Dee do day day
I get so lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely yeah
Got to be some good times ahead
(Ad-libbed section)
Come on baby
(Ad-libbed section)
Wooh, hoo
Yeah, dee do day day
Dee do day day
I don't have no time for no monkey business
Dee do day day
Dee do day day
I get so lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely yeah
Got to be some good times ahead
(Ad-libbed section)

I misinterpreted it. And now i do. And i made dumb mistake *shakes head in shame*
But yes, now i understand. Im only human.
But i interpreted it as not having time for relationship monkey busniess, but i can see where it is sad such as "everything is coming down on me down on me i go crazy, o so crazy, livin on my own". So its in some ways contradictory, very little though. But yes on the overall, it is sad.
