Hi people i've just been watching gvh1 for the first time in ages and i'm curious about a few things, and i hope this hasn't been mentioned before.
Okay here goes what made queen go back onto TOTP to perform GOFLB when they had made videos since bohemian rhapsody how come they did that anyone know, and poke me in the eyes with a red hot poker but isn't brian playing a guitar NOT his red special but a possible copy of it in 1977?.
The guitar looks different the colour is darker and the pick ups look different too Is it just me who can spot this?
Any help would ease my fimble mind CHEERS.

Can you please speak not in run-on sentences. I'm sorry if I'm being a prick, but it's really annoying.

You are correct about the guitar. He is using a Japanese Greco copy of his Red Special.

That was 'Seven Seas Of Rhye'. 'Lover Boy' was just because Queen wanted to promote their first EP, and I guess they finally had enough time in their schedule to go onto TOTP.
Did Queen not switch the tapes for SSOR so that they were miming to the original single version on Top Of The Pops? I think I read that somewhere. It sounds the sort of thing they would do.
Also, does anyone know where the video for KYA on the second disc on GVH1 comes from? It obviously never charted so it can't be from TOTP. Anyone know?

You are indeed correct there. In the old days of TOTP, artists had to perform to a completely re-recorded backing track of their single. In Queen's case, their PR guy (?) told them it was a completely new recording, but in actual fact it was the studio version he had handed them.
correct someone dropped from TOTP-not Bowie though.he dropped out 3 years previous and Queen turned up to perform Seven seas of rhye.Gent above correct in that axe was a copy.
The KYA film is from The Old Grey Whistle Test, which used to cut footage to songs in order to play them on the TV, before videos existed.
Google it for more info (and 4 compilation DVDs)
Yes thanks guys for all the info THE HERO what i meant was since bohemian rhapsody there was a video to song, but GOFLB didn't have one but they appeared on TOTP when judging by brian and roger's comments on gvh1 they absolutely hated going in there.
The only thing there must have been was a very hectic schedule at that time or there was no director around to shoot a promo, or did they have a change of heart who knows and who cares!!!.
Just one last bit roger states on gvh1 during we are the champions that 2 versions were made, that's interesting as we haven't seen the other one and the impromptu concert afterwards do you think that could have been filmed as the cameras were all there.
