Okay, over the weekend I bought the ROTC DVD and ANATO 30th Anniversary. I must say, they're both good, but...
ROTC didn't deliver what it should have. Wembley and Live At The Bowl gave us the performance, rehearsals, interviews, and other rare and fun stuff.
All we got from ROTC is the concert, and an all right performance of "Imagine". The concert was okay, but they could have given us more.
I don't really recommend it unless you are a strong follower of Q+PR. It's just not their best release.
But, the 30th Anniversary release of ANATO is great. Not only is it once again remastered, but also the DVD is pretty cool too. The videos for all of the songs are surprisingly fitting and go well with the songs, and also the DVD includes the "flames" version of Bohemian Rhapsody.
I recommend it for any fan that needs another dose of Queen majesty and magnificence. If so, this is just the thing for you!
How about you guys? I'm sure most of you have either one of these, what's your opinion?
I bought both, and I like them a lot!
ROTC brings back the memories from the concert I saw in May (Newcastle), and I still cry every time I watch Last Horizon.
ANATO is cool, the digital remasters are far better than the previous ones, and I rather like the videos as well. Though I got enough of that Bo Rhap with flames video on GVHI.
I'd say they're worth the money, but I know many will disagree =)
Let me see...
ROTC delivered something I haven't seen yet. ANATO re re re re re re re release is the same album I have in about 10 other formats in yet another package... Yes, they really delivered with this one...
Unless I'm gonna get NEW 5.1 mix (meaning different album)- it's just disappointment... What's so bloody spectacular about THIS ANATO version? Space footage during "39"?
It's too bad ROTC wasn't a two-disc set because we all got spoiled on the other DVDs. Even WWRY '81 had room for some bonus features!!!
Now I'm just wondering what tour DVD they'll officially release next?
And will there be a Greatest Video Hits 3 DVD?
