John Deacon not on Tour-Why???
| workstour 25.11.2005 12:45 |
Is anybody there who know, why John Deacon is not going with Queen+PR on Tour? It´s really pitty, not for one Gig as Special Guest:-( |
| deleted user 25.11.2005 13:01 |
cos he rretired i believe, retirement usually means finish and dont continue at all, so thats what hes done. i agree tho, would of been nice to see him at one gig, like hyde park, that would of been special. |

He stated that it was not Queen without Freddie and refused to go on tour, that's why he retired. |

Even though he's retired, do you think he still involved on the business side to some extent? It's known that after Queen started managing themselves Deakey really took an interest behind the scenes and looked after their business dealings. |

goliath wrote: He stated that it was not Queen without Freddie and refused to go on tour, that's why he retired. You'd better be prepared to provide a source to prove that statement. To my knowledge, he simply retired without making any such comments about Queen and Paul. Brian and Roger both have said John has given them his blessing to continue on under the Queen flag. |

thats what i hear, i really wish hed come like it would make my life complete absolutly complete if he came, i dont think he knows how many people he would really make happy if he would come do some of the shows in the States. no offence to Danny Miranda or anything we need our John i dont care if he's a hermit or not! |

Roger told us fans after the premiere of WWRY in cologne that "it's looking good that he will join us". So sad he did not, but they definetely asked him. |

Because he's been sitting on his lazy butt for 20 years eating pork and baked beans. Word has it he's shaping up his life and was recently promoted to manager of the Jack in the Box. |

goliath wrote: He stated that it was not Queen without Freddie and refused to go on tour, that's why he retired. So what about when he played on the Freddie tribute as Queen-without-Freddie in '92, or on the MIH album without Freddie in '95, or on NOBY and at the Bejart premiere as Queen-without-Freddie in '97? Did he change his mind? Or did he really just decide to retire sometime in the last 8 years? I guess if one were to accept that, then one wouldn't be able to characterize his absence as some kind of silent protest, thereby making him at once both a club with which to beat up anyone interested in hearing Queen songs played live again, and at the same time a high profile poster-child for people who'd prefer everyone just sit at home, listen to their old records and quietly cry about the ongoing 14 year tragedy of it all. I bet John's crying - all the way to the bank, in between stuffing pound notes into some strangers' g-strings. John has chosen to drown his sorrows in strippers, and I for one salute him. Way more fun than touring anyway. He really was the smartest one in the band after all! As for myself, my mourning freshness date expired 10 years ago. Even widows are allowed to take off the black and get remarried at some point. I'm all mourned out and ready to rock. But feel free to stay home during March and April and cry all you like :) Three cheers for John Deacon, the man of impeccable taste! STRIP, STRIP, HOORAH!!! |

This is most unwise, my young friend, for I am 140 years old ! And my infinite wisdom tells me that if John chooses to stay home and bake instead of playing the hits he wrote in front of thousands, then let him be ! It would much more annoying if John was on stage and Roger home taking care of his cars ! Humph ! |

Cough...for the record: I've got a 4.0 GPA as well...in 6th grade., that is. |
| RedSpecial1979 02.12.2005 17:32 |
IMHO - John did his part in Queen, wrote alot of great songs (okay, good at the very least - catchy even) and I for one respect his decision to keep a private life. If he wants to be out of the picture, so be it. He was still part of the greatest band that ever was. Besides, he's still a part of Queen as long as he gets his residual royalty checks... Okay. Now back to the kid-bashing! |

your_mama wrote: Cough...for the record: I've got a 4.0 GPA as well...in 6th grade., that is.6th grade!!! oh man i remember 6th grade was good fun, everyday something new one day we made houses in math out of toothpicks and gum drops and that other time in science class when i made a cloud out of cotton balls, it was damn good too, i still have it hung up in my room, i got a 100% on it!! then another time in english we made cards for old people and i made mine a pop up card. Man those were good times, but nonetheless 6th grade was the hardest grade for me. Especailly now that i take senior Astronomy- man advanced Astronomy is NOTHING compared to making toothpick houses |
| Sergei. 02.12.2005 21:53 |
Hmmm.... I dont think I recall making a toothpick and gumdrop house.....I DO recall Having pre algebra, science fair, history fair and jogging 3 miles a day in gym....um, did you go to a special school? |
| Sergei. 02.12.2005 21:55 |
I never made cards in english........ Or cotton ball clouds in Science........ We're much past second grade....I havent touched a crayon or glue stick since 2nd grade.... |

HA yea right i know what schools are like they dont do that! and even if they did i dont care because ive ran cross country for 4 years and they make us run 6 miles a day so suck it! Ive done the science fair and its easy if u know how to light a light bulb you twit. History fair? i dont know what the shit that is but i always have above a 100% in history so i could give a shit less! and pre algebra, ALGEBRA IS THE ESIEST THING EVER! I could have done that in ATLEAST 5th grade and i dont mean PRE- im done wth algebra. oh man u so ignorant. OH and those fairs the science and history fairs are voluntary man ur stupid! u dont have to be smart to do them! all u need is the internet to think of a goo project for you like Yahoo go fucking search it- ur a joke! And now i relized ur supposed to be SOOO smart with ur 4 GPA but u cant even hold an argument worth fighting for! u sound ridiculous and i think u should be banned from Queenzone because we dont need little immature assholes like u around here giving useless opinions on stuff u dont know about, alright?! so no one cares to hear ur opinion uve made urself several enemies and i really think u should leave or just be nice to me because u think ur better than everyone else and ur not, ur 12 u dont know shit about the real world and when u get out there ur going to crash and burn, and i hope im there to watch because im warning you now leave me alone little girl ur not better than anyone else on this board and im not saying that i am but im a hell of a lot better than u at this point. |

I don't know why I am responding, but... LEAVE THE GUY THE FUCK ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He retired, he's in his 50's, he doesn't want to tour, who the hell cares???? Would it be nice? Yes! Does he want to tour? How the hell would I know, but, apparently not! Accept Danny Miranda, get over it, and please, to all who read this, quit talking about John Deacon's absence!!! The guy's contribution as a writer is irreplaceable. However, his bass playing is quite susceptible(never typed that word 'til now) to replacement. The man retired, he's living his life his way, move the hell on. Just be grateful that B + R are touring. Sorry for the hostility, it just gets old as shit! |

When i said "Johnny come back you CUNT" i was only joking if that makes a diffrence to anyone ;-) But i still want him to come back.... |

I remmebr when I was at the hyde park gig and another one bites the dust came on and I turned to my friend and said " now would be a brilliant time for john to stroll out" But he didn't, i was very dissapointed :( I'd love for John to come back just for one last gig. In london though so I can actually go to it! Possibly the new wembley stadium when it has finished being built if it hasnt already! I've heard loads of people give john some real stick for seamingly 'dissapearing off of teh face of the planet without a trace' But I still love him and I'm sure lots of you still do too! It would be amasing if he came back for one last concert... But the chances of that happening are about as much as Brian giving up his clogs. |

John Deacon was behind the scenes on one thing. He was partially involved in the early stages of the "We Will Rock You" musical. He was not impressed with the Robbie Williams version of "We are the Champions" recorded for a Knights Tale, and was less impressed with a remake of "We Will Rock You" by Brittney Spears, Pink and Beyonce with Brian May and Rodger Taylor for a Pepsi commercial in 2004. He also didn't show up with his fellow band members in 2001 to accept his inductee to the Rock n Roll hall of fame. |

After watching the all star game, I would really like to see Mike Schmitt and George Brett come back. Baseball is not the same without them, especially at third base. There are no real "legend" type third basemen anymore. I mean maybe Chipper Jones, but he doesn't come close to guys like Pete Rose or Craig Nettles. And Yogi Berra was able to throw the opening pitch without a hop, so why not? Let's bring back the old timers. Retired Shmeetired. |
